Even more hilarious. I'm sitting in the sun having a beer and enjoying this thread, and you think you're on a "mission." You are gay. LOL

Alex Mcleish was looking to sign some new players to help Rangers title push, so he sent his chief scout Ewan Chester to Afghanistan to search for some new talent. Sure enough, the scout finds an outstanding 18-year-old striker and immediately signs him on a 3-year deal.

On getting back to Scotland, Mcleish takes one look at him in training and immediately puts him in the starting line up for the big away game against Celtic.

The new lad is fantastic, he scores a hat trick and creates four more as Rangers romp it 7-0. Ecstatic after the game the young lad phones his mum to tell her the good news.

“Mum” he says, “I’ve just made my debut and had a great game. The team loves me, the fans love me and the press loves me, even them twats on the radio clyde phone in love me. Life is great!”

“Well,” says his mum, “I’m glad life is great for you. Shall I tell you what happened to us today?. Your Dad’s been murdered in the street, your sister and I were raped and beaten in broad daylight, and your brother’s joined a vicious gang of killers”.

“Mum, I don’t know what to say. I’m so sorry” “Sorry?” She yells down the phone, “You’re f@#$ing sorry? It’s YOUR f@#$ing fault we moved to Glasgow in the first place!!”

A few of the pubs/clubs show live sports coverage which does include the major nfl games etc.

But, your venue is probably looks like a more fitting setting :)

Oh yeah, I’m a blue nose alright. Born in Clydebank. Left Scotland 21 years ago.

Good on you mate.

So what do you think for next season?. I think we will regain the league and win at least one cup and have a decent run in Europe (q-finals of the CL,if in the UEFA Cup I think maybe semi-finals)

We still need a top young centre half(we are being linked with Cuellar of Osasuna for £2m) and a tall striker(linked with some 6’4 Italian at £2m also).Still rumours about Pizarro coming on a Bosman for £40k a week or Fowler from Liverpool on a free transfer.

Still linked with Whittaker (Hibs rightback—£1.5m),McCulloch (Scots midfielder from Wigan for £1m) and if Whittaker bid fails, McNamee from Man City I think at only £100-200,000.

We will probably sell Sebo(at £1m), Buffel(£2-2.5m) and Svennson for a million.

Smith/McCoist will then have £8-10 million plus about £4m in fees from players sold.

Speaking of that...

Junior never finished his Capri Sun on Saturday.

Even when I spiked it with Myers.

What’s wrong with him?

I hope you’re right in your predictions. What about last season? What a disaster Le Guen was.
Are you located in Scotland, or in the US?

Now that's an interesting benchmark. How would it work, exactly?

I used to live in Troon. That’s where I spent aged 4-27.

It’s a radical idea, granted, but it goes something like this: settle games, every game mind you, including your precious little World Cup, by playing soccer.

You didn’t quite answer my question, but I can see why. Presumably, you mean “playing soccer in a way that accomodates my short attention span.”

One thing I’ve find amusing about the implication that soccer is “ghey” is that possibly the most homoerotic sport on the face of the planet is NFL football. Skin-tight spandex, pads, four-point stances

Plus, the friendly patting of each other's butts, and the banging together of chests.

Not a very good presumption, Rudeboy. Ironically humorous, though. A soccer fan mocking a sport's fan's attention span is like me laughing at the size of another man's unit. The one thing we learned from the '94 World Cup is that a soccer fan's attention span is exactly 90 minutes, plus the cutely mysterious injury time, and maybe a little overtime or whatever they call the period in which someone can score the Golden Goal. And that is it - you people have then bored of soccer.

Not like you should have - following the tourney was cool - I liked learning the various strategies and traditions of all the countries. But this sport, which is truly filled with intricacies, tough decisions (love the limited substitution) and subtle action, has been declared by your community as NOT the way to settle a soccer game. Instead you guys give away you charming little Cracker Jack toy of a trophy to whomever wins the Scissors, Paper, Stone contest y'all call "Penalty Kicks." Could you come up with a more "anti" anticlimax? Sorry we don't feel like playing Emperor's New Clothes with you; but until you develop the attention span to finish soccer tourney games by playing soccer, don't expect US fans to give a damn either.

How is that any different than deciding the outcome of a game on a coin-toss? You think what passes for OT here in the States is a true resolution of the outcome of the game? Any game?

And I should add that I'm a US fan, so try not to be so condescending. I should say that I'm a fan of professional sports, period. Listening to you whine that you don't like a particular game, and won't watch it unless the rules are changed to accomodate your sensibilities is priceless. "I'm a NASCAR fan, but I'd watch Formula One if they used different tires . . . ." ROTFLMAO
