Berger's Eternal Secret

BERGER'S ETERNAL SECRET

May 27, 2007 -- It now looks like the American people will never learn how - and why - Bill Clinton's national security adviser, Sandy "Sticky Fingers" Berger, stole and destroyed classified documents from the National Archives.

That's because Berger - in a significant, but little-noticed, move - has short-circuited the last investigation into his sordid little burglary. As Byron York reports at National Review Online, Berger last week voluntarily surrendered his law license. Now, that's hardly as serious a step as it sounds, since - as Berger freely admitted - "I have not [practiced law] for 15 years and do not envision returning to the profession."

What it does, however, is prematurely end an investigation by the District of Columbia Bar Association into Berger's confessed thievery. It also means that details of the probe, which would have been made public, now remain sealed.

So much for the public's right to know.

(snip)

As York notes, a report from the Bar Association says that Berger "acknowledges that the material facts on which the allegations of misconduct are predicated are true" - and that he "could not successfully defend against them."

But just what they are, we'll never know. Score one for Mr. Happy Pants.

The Bush coverup of Clinton crimes is worse than that.
The stolen FBI files effect a thousand people.
These felonies are no problem apparently to those in power.

The stolen Code Level Archive files effect all US citizens
in the future because the ‘past’ was stolen .. and erased.
Millions of people hurt but again, no problem for
those in power to these felonies and treason, either.

In both cases, like the failure to secure the borders,
there is an absence of care and then an absence of
accountability.

Berger didn't "short circuit" the process by freezing the Bar investigation. The crooks inside our own Justice Depasrtment short circuited the rule of law by giving Berger a total pass in the first place.

"Rule of Law" in the Bush Justice Department:
Stealing/Destroying top secret documents: 100 hrs. community service
Shooting a drug smuggler in the ass: 10 years in prison

Now if Berger had stolen documents from the MEXICAN Archives then he would be in real trouble.

Yes, one of the great questions is why the DOJ was so eager to let Berger off and close the books on this incident.

He, Clinton, and Gore (I'll give them anything they want if they'll reduce their C02 emissions, yes, back in the 90's) should all be hanged for treason for the active roles they played in bolstering China’s military and especially China’s advancement in nuclear technology and missile guidance.

Traitors all.

Can you imagine the blow-up in the media if Berger was a Republican? It’d be 24/7 news with updates every hour. The NY Times would be demanding a special prosecutor; the DNC would be too. The talking heads at the networks would be clucking away.

With Berger, NOTHING! I even heard Diane Rehm on NPR say that Berger was a well known disorganized person. His disorganization caused him to steal secrets!

That’s liberals for you.

Oh, brother----not ANOTHER globalist profiteering off the Iraq war.

What does it take to remove Berger's influence from official Washington? This guy's a slippery snake. Americans are uncomfortable with Berger slithering around official Washington, making sure trillions of US dollars are flowing into Mideast sinkholes.

It is an outrage that Berger stole and destroyed classified documents from the National Archives. Sure Berger gave up his law license to save his sorry backside-----Berger's making money hand-over-fist, profiting off the Iraq war. Read on---the "spin" on this profiteering venture is laughable.

ADDENDUM
Berger's Firm to Aid Oil Interests in Iraq
By Judy Sarasohn / Washington Post
Thursday, September 16, 2004; Page A29

Stonebridge International, the "global strategy firm" founded by Clinton administration national security adviser Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger, has taken on an interesting client, Gulfsands Petroleum Ltd., a private Houston-based oil and gas company.

Gulfsands, along with its larger partner Devon Energy Corp. of Oklahoma City, has oil and gas exploration and development interests in Syria.

And now Gulfsands is looking to Iraq.

"Stonebridge is assisting Gulfsands in organizing meetings in Washington with administration officials to discuss the company's business interests in Iraq and U.S. policy toward Syria," Stonebridge Vice Chairman H.P. Goldfield said in an e-mail response to written questions.

The lobby registration was filed with Congress by Goldfield and colleague Joy Drucker.

Goldfield, who served in senior jobs in the Reagan administration, said Gulfsands "is conducting business development activities in Iraq" but "is not pursuing any U.S. funded contracts in Iraq."

Its discussions with the government of Iraq are confidential for now, Goldfield said. "Our proposed energy project will be privately funded and will have significant economic and environmental benefits to the people of Iraq.

The project would create thousands of jobs for Iraqi citizens and would introduce more environmentally beneficial technologies into Iraq's development of its oil and gas sector," Goldfield said. Berger is not involved with the work for Gulfsands, Goldfield said.

Again, all roads lead to the money. He doesn't need a law license, when he rakes in money from other sources. Scumbags, all of these people. He should have been shot by a firing squad.

John Kerry was a key beneficiary of Berger's Burglaries
Rescued: Data the Kerry/Edwards Campaign Tried to DELETE from its site! (grandpa dave found cache)

Berger purloined all draft revisions of a key critique of the government's response
to the millennium terrorism threat, a document that detailed Administration knowledge
– and inaction – regarding al Qaeda presence in the U.S. in 1999
and 2000. Stolen were crucial notes in the margins of these drafts
which reveal the thinking and agendas of the
Clinton Administration relating to the mounting terrorist threat.

Sadly, no. Libby’s case was adjudicated in a court of law. The Bar investigation, I would think, is more like an ethics investigation. Once Berger gives up his law license the case against him is moot. No reason to proceed since all the DC Bar could do is take his license.

I consider W's handling of this matter far more egregious than this latest stunt.

They obviously have something on the Bush family.
