Clinton: 'On Your Own' Attitude Must Go
Associated Press ^ | May 29 | HOLLY RAMER

Posted on 05/29/2007 1:43:14 PM PDT by george76

Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.

The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an "ownership society" really is an "on your own" society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.

"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."

Clinton said she would reduce special breaks for corporations, eliminate tax incentives for companies that ship jobs overseas and open up CEO pay to greater public scrutiny.

Clinton also said she would help people save more money by expanding and simplifying the earned income tax credit; create new jobs by pursuing energy independence; and ensure that every American has affordable health insurance.

I remember reading a book in which she was quoted as chiding Bill about who he was hanging out with...sometime to the effect of “why are you hanging around this person? He isn’t rich or successful”.

A lying hypocrite power mad insane person living in that ugly pantsuit!!!

They need the “immigrant” votes to help get this sort of thing through.

To paraphrase...since I don’t have the actual quote...”once they realize they can vote themselves money, it’s all over”

The Republicans are helping with this - the consequences are devestating. What has been a proven failure will replace a proven success. But people like Hillary will have even more power to direct who gets the money. I guess that is the point. And people like me will just have to shut up and be greateful for what I get to keep that I think of as mine.

Comrade Clinton speaks out. Do not worry, before the voters know that she is a dedicated communist, her very nasty, very mean, very arrogant, very boring, and very uncharismatic character will destroy her in the eyes of the majority of voters in the general elections if she is the democrat nominee. She cannot change her character no matter how much she tries and the liberal media cannot cover it for her.

Excellent idea!
I love simple solutions - especially the ones that don’t cost much money.

I’m going to try to find spools of varying sizes to handle different pistol geometry and mass — and to allow the addition of a large rubber band from spool to spool to prevent accidental dislodgement during “harsh” door closure.

Without rubber band restraints, have you had any incidents of a pistol falling?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my freep mail...

> Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a
> broad economic vision Tuesday,

Her collectivist vision is my worst nightmare. I would be better off in Brazil, where we can still worship Christ freely.

> saying it’s time to replace an “on your own” society with
> one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.

Spoken like a true Marxist, and without shame.

Basically it means, you get to live a lowest common denominator lifestyle while the party elite live large.

> The Democratic senator

She is NOT Democratic. She is Democrat. BIG difference.

> said what the Bush administration touts as an “ownership
> society” really is an “on your own” society

What am I missing here? “On your own” is what made this country GREAT! You don’t have to look far to see what happens to countries that implement a Marxist vision.

Like Cuba.

> that has widened the gap between rich and poor.

The class card.

I don’t see the Klintons giving any of their money away.

> “I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,”

This from a leader of what is probably the most divisive political party in American history.

“We’re all in it together” means that she will force you at gunpoint to share the fruits of your labor with the ne’er do well bum down the street while she and her family continue to live large.

> “I believe our government can once again work for all
> Americans.

Read your Constitution HAG. The federal government was never meant to be a Nanny.

> It can promote the great American tradition of
> opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”

Unabashed Marxist appeal to the thief in everyone.

Are there really any grownups left that still believe this stuff?

> That means pairing growth with fairness

Yes, all Marxists hide their totalitarian collectivist goals behind making things “fair”.

Maybe somebody should tell this economics maven that Growth IS fairness! That’s why my parents came to America! They knew all about a government-imposed “fairness”. They came here to GET AWAY from that!

> she said, to ensure that the middle-class succeeds in the
> global economy, not just corporate CEOs.

Just in case she hasn’t been paying attention, unless the corporations and their CEOs succeed, there’s NO CHANCE that the “middle class” can succeed, or even exist!

> “There is no greater force for economic growth than free
> markets.

Astonishing statement from a committed collectivist. There has to be a catch somewhere else ...

> But markets work best with rules that promote
> our values, protect our workers and give all people a
> chance to succeed,” she said.

I just KNEW there’d be a catch.

Look. My parents came from a hardscrabble catch-as-catch can survival-of-the-fittest struggle they call “life” in other parts of the world. They worked hard, lived the American dream, and in one generation were able to send their children to American colleges.

There is no better chance to succeed than the economy we have right now. Tampering with that to implement some Marxist dystopian ideal of “fairness” is an invitation to DISASTER.

But then again, disaster might be what she wants.

For you and me, anyway, certainly not for her.

> “Fairness doesn’t just happen. It requires the right
> government policies.”

Oh please.

Just have a look at what “diversity” and the “war on poverty” have done for “fairness”. We’ve spent TRILLIONS of dollars only to see things become orders of magnitude worse now than they were before these “government policies” were implemented.

> Clinton spoke at the Manchester School of Technology,
> which trains high school students for careers in the
> construction, automotive, graphic arts and other
> industries.

I live in New Hampshire. These students were probably ramped off that they had to sit and listen to this socialist cow tell them how she was going to take their hard-earned money and give it to the drunken bum next door, while they could have been out apprenticing for real money.

> “We have sent a message to our young people that if you
> don’t go to college ... that you’re thought less of in
> America. We have to stop this,” she said. “Our country
> cannot run without the people who have the skills that
> are taught in this school.”

Ted Knight said pretty much the same thing in “Caddy Shack” when he said, “The world needs ditch diggers, too.”

What a pointless statement for Senator Clinton to make. I have no real idea what she is talking about, and I’ll wager a guess she doesn’t either.

I'll wager she knows exactly what she's talking about and she's hoping her audience isn't paying attention. If she gets elected and the government helps us all "share", folks will pay attention. Some thought she just wanted socialized medicine--just wait until she gets her hands on the tax code!

I can hear the strains of the Soviet Union’s National Anthem playing in the ether.

So, Hillary picked her new campaign song already?

She, and so many like her, want to take away what people like my father fought for during WWII.

It amazes me that she could become the next POTUS when she’s a socialist/communist/marxist, etc. But, she’s not the only one. There’s Obama and Edwards and all the others in the dem party who want the same thing. And some some republicans too.

My husband keeps telling me that she will not win if she’s the nominee, nor will Obama, but I’m not buying that yet. He has no doubt that a Republican will win in 2008, especially if either Hillary or Obama are on dem ticket. He thinks Edwards could win if he’s the dem nominee but the other two have no chance.

I'm sure there will come a time when you can use
it for the "Breck Girl", and the "Magic Negro," too. ;o)

“Dabbling in the gray area of communism.”

Yep, but the mainstream media can not bring itself to use the word “Socialist” when referring to the good Comrade. Not even Fox News will use the word in her behalf. Socialist, Socialist, Socialist! Now, if we can only somehow persuade the media to use the word....

Thank you DC. The story of Animal Farm kind of touched home with me and fit in with todays politics.

Don’t know that most people are aware of the ‘origin’ of the story.
