I'm a Democratic-leaning independent voter that has lurked on the site for some time. It seems you haven't lurked long enough to understand just how poorly a vanity post from a complete noob has always been received. Have fun ... woo-hoo!

Coming to a party with an outfit like that??

You still have a long way to go before you’re enlightened. Joining up here is a good start though.

Take this advice from one of the original Reagan Democrats (read my FR profile) Keep that open mind it is not a bad thing but if you truly have an open mind and trust your instincts, I think you will find you agree less and less with the issues of the Left, Or should I say today’s Left, because this is in no way resembles the Democratic Party of my Father and Grandfather.

Why don’t you tell them on DK that you have signed up on FR and are trying to get along with us. Tell us how that goes, will you?

Hmmmm.
No responses, no other posts.
Methinks this person is hoping to be flamed so that he can run back to KOS and moan about how mean those fascists over at FR are.
I don't think we should participate in his plan, do you?

You've come to the wrong political forum.

Welcome. I was once a Democrat, as well, but I recovered. If you really open your mind, I suspect you will also.

Back in the time in my life when I hadn’t yet taken responsibility for my own fate, didn’t have a full-time career, and didn’t read anything but comics, I was a Democrat, too.
I eventually discovered that virtually everyone who was a mouthpiece for my party was a liar. The fact that maturing also brought me to a higher appreciation of integrity, I found myself unable to continue to even think seriously about voting for a Democrat.
Now, having suffered the horrors of the Carter and Clinton administrations as an adult, I now find myself with one of two choices at election time: vote for the Republican candidate, or don’t vote.
