The Difference Between Free Speech and Hate Speech
Global Politician ^ | 05-15-07 | David Storobin

And yet, when African-American Professors incite their Black students against Whites, they are praised. The Professor, Nikki Giovanni, chosen to eulogize the victims of Virginia Tech Massacre wrote the following poem:

Can a nigger kill a honkie

Can a nigger kill the Man

Can you kill nigger

Huh? nigger can you kill

Do you know how to draw blood

Can you poison

Can you stab-a-Jew

Can you kill huh? nigger

Can you kill

Can you run a protestant down with your ‘68 El Dorado

(that’s all they’re good for anyway)

Can you kill

Can you piss on a blond head

Can you cut it off

Can you kill

A nigger can die

We ain’t got to prove we can die

We got to prove we can kill

They sent us to kill Japan and Africa

We policed europe

Can you kill

Can you kill a white man

Can you kill the nigger

in you

Can you make your nigger mind die

Can you kill your nigger mind

And free your black hands to strangle

Can you kill

Can a nigger kill

Can you shoot straight and

Fire for good measure

Can you splatter their brains in the street

Can you kill them

Can you lure them to bed to kill them

We kill in Viet Nam for them

We kill for UN & NATO & SEATO & US

And everywhere for all alphabet but BLACK

Can we learn to kill WHITE for BLACK

Learn to kill niggers

Learn to be Black men

Prof. Giovanni has been celebrated as Ebony Magazine’s Woman of the Year; received keys from New York, Dallas, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Los Angeles; and dozens of other awards and honors.

Telling young Black students that they are “niggers” unless they kill “honkies” is, thus, free speech. Admitting that some diseases may effect some racial and ethnic groups more than others (making it easier to cure ill people) is hate speech.

Is it common knowledge on the Virginia Tech campus that such a psycho racist as Giovanni is a professor there?

She’s not a racist per se. She’s more of a “slam poetry” type.

Let them try please. They’ll very quickly find their percentage of the American population dropping from about 13% to close to zero. Us honkies are very tough to kill.

She did not deliver this as a eulogy, SeaFoodGumbo. How
could you have made such a mistake? Hate?

And if you actually read the poem, you might see that it
is not about killing people. Here’s the heart of the poem:

“Can you kill the nigger in you
Can you make your nigger mind die
Can you kill your nigger mind”

It has more to do with black people rejecting the
image that white people have of them as “the nigger”, and
rejecting the image they have of themselves as “the nigger”.
One part of being a nigger is that you never kill a white
man, even if he was killing your family.

It also has a little bit of the Sadean Woman in it (as in
the Marquis de Sade). The Marquis asserted that when men
and women are incarcerated in prison at the same rates, for
the severity of crimes, you will know that the female sex
has achieved equality with the male. I think black on black
crime is still much more common than black on white crime.

The author of the poem threw Cho out of her class. If
everyone had done the same thing, he might not have had the
opportunity to kill so many innocent people.

Oops. My bad. You didn’t say she delivered the poem as a eulogy.
I stand by the rest of my comment, though.

Need I guess—she’s a democrat (of course??). Yeah. Lot of love in there. Not a real poet—she seems to enjoy a position because of her race. Is it not true? Yeah, probably. Such dribble. Such adolescence in her “work.” Laughable. I didn’t have the heart to contact her via the website... a real poet may have written this:

He Did

The great Israeli, the great Professor Liviu Librescu did,

Working one minute, knowing the next, he waited not, he did.

When a matter of hell was on them with shot and fire,

When the shooting started, the loathing, evil desire,

When the children of Virginia, freedom land screamed,

And were cruelly taken, the teacher quickly deemed,

Not in my class! You cannot have a single one for,

You must go through me and I am strong, vile hate!

Do you hear me now! Leave my place, take no more!

I spit in your face! Not one shall you add to your slate.

The professor did what none but the bravest, I bid,

And only the strongest, God-filled can do. He did.

Of those very few among us like he, the truly tall.

He taught them well then kicked that fearsome wall,

Was a shield, helping them flee man’s darkest fall.

He went down plainly knowing his life was o’er.

He is a hero. He is that but far, faraway more.

God bless the great professor. God forever bless him.

God bless his children, his wife… his life. I’chaim!

He’s surely with God now. He’s done with me and you.

Kaddish... Pray to God for a best man, the man Librescu.

Or this:

America’s Peace

What have you, would you have,
Fatherless child,
Made from your own device, mind,
Out of the wild?
Is she not worth your time, your effort,
Your loving keep?
Is she worth your sweat, silver,
Your conscience torn deep,
To defend this land, the mass of a new,
Different face?
Say war is never ever an answer
… Nor is it our place;
Easily it’s fraught with wasted lives,
Futile bile.
To do nothing is one answer,
Give up the gentle smile,
Of freedom and peace by meeting,
Those who would take,
And keep longer than arms length,
A countenance make.
But what to do when violence comes,
Presses hard,
To kill your close ones and hasten to slave,
To quickly retard,
Your life, express his own hate,
For is it not you that marred,
The world he swallowed, his own life,
His earthly ward?

Peace a fleeting place,
Never a long-stay guest,
Rests uneasy, hate fills the swirl.
Comes war—a mad, sad, fearful,
Tearful joiner of motives,
The many thieves,
Buried in, infecting each heart,
Taking each mind away easy,
Mans worst unfurled.
It steals precious time, precious love,
Precious life in harmony,
—Hope surely leaves.

Cry, cry loud!
Forever shout it out and implore all,
That is above to render,
Help for all on this earthly tether of heartache and pain,
So no one must kill.
Cry loud! Cry out more for all men—
Come to love as written by the sender.
Stay away the Satan invented by,
Each man for his own sake! Must the shrill,
Must the shallow, every fool, every man,
Any man, have his own way?
Or can we live in peace longer,
Than a mere single blink in a single day?

It all depends on who you are. Certain protected groups can say and do anything and get away with it.
Others, I.E. true conservatives or Christians, don’t even have to do anything to be attacked and denounced for their “hate speech”.

You are a retard of the highest order.

She did not deliver this as a eulogy, SeaFoodGumbo. How could you have made such a mistake? Hate? And if you actually read the poem...

Though you corrected yourself in the next post, it's awfully funny to see you accuse me of not having read the poem when you obviously hadn't read my posts.

And if you actually read the poem, you might see that it is not about killing people.

Maybe you're right -- I must have missed the metaphors hidden inside "Can you stab-a-Jew" and "Can you splatter their brains in the street" and "Can you lure them to bed to kill them".

It has more to do with black people rejecting the image that white people have of them as “the nigger”, and rejecting the image they have of themselves as “the nigger”. One part of being a nigger is that you never kill a white man, even if he was killing your family.

So, in your view it's about defeating that part of them that kept them from killing white people. Doesn't this contradict what you said in the beginning that the poem "is not about killing people"?

It also has a little bit of the Sadean Woman in it (as in the Marquis de Sade). The Marquis asserted that when men and women are incarcerated in prison at the same rates, for the severity of crimes, you will know that the female sex has achieved equality with the male.

I have no idea what kind of crap you're talking about here. Please don't bother explaining it either.

I think black on black crime is still much more common than black on white crime.

Wrong. Blacks commit more violent crimes against whites than against blacks. I have to run to the vet, but I'll be back to give you stats if you want to bet a $50 donation to FR on whether I'm right or not.

The author of the poem threw Cho out of her class. If everyone had done the same thing, he might not have had the opportunity to kill so many innocent people.

I'm the first one who on the thread who mentioned that fact -- and so what. Had he written anything worse than things she's written in the past? I doubt it.

It takes a special kind of person to read that poem and not see it as a call for killing white people, especially as it repeats the exhortation over and over. Have you hit your head recently?

Wow

Remember the phrase, "I may not agree with what you are saying, but I support your right to say it."
After reading some of the postings in this thread, I would imagine that the hatred is reciprocated.
What a vicious cycle.

I think you're missing the point. This woman is calling for the murder of innocent people. I do hate people who call for murdering innocent people. In the same vein, I hate terrorists, pedophiles, and neo-Nazis.

It seems that you're using moral equivalence to equate this woman with those who categorically reject her and her disgusting views. Yes -- I do hate people who want to kill me.

Double standards....again. A racist is a racist. Hate is hate. No excuses can justify it. If an old sports commentator can get fired and have his reputation ruined for saying “nappy” then people like this should be convicted of a hate crime, jailed or heavily fined. How far are we (society) going to let this go?
