When is society going to start mentioning men as the possible culprits?
All the church-going catholic girls were the first ones having babies in my little town. Strict parents and religious education included.
At least they had their babies though (the ones we knew about anyway).
I would think it’s because the young ladies don’t keep their knees together. But I could be wrong.
"Peggy Sue, you know what a penis is ? Stay away from it !"
I think the point is, not that people have sex and get pregnant, but that we’re spending billions of dollars teaching these kids, essentially, nothing. Sex ed programs are for naught.
Women are not responsible because all sex is rape.
I told my ex wife while were married that she was fertile the most 3 days before or after a period and she believed me. I had one child through her at my choosing. It is absolutely ridiculous how dumb some people can be.
I wonder how they get away with using that name.
Society has played a roll together in successfully lowering the standards of behavior so that the consequences of bad decisions are "blurred and unclear" at best. I'm thinking that many women raised in such an environment to do actually see themselves as overly responsible for their behavior nor the consequences of it. Abortion has been marketed to them as no more controversial than a stop in the restroom. Life and responsibility for life has been trivialized. That, plus public education has left them with no more personal skill advanced beyond know how to put a rubber on a banana. Well, they probably did that, the banana's on the counter. Why did they get pregnant?
OK, not that bad... Stil, it's a given that men and women today are arriving at their teens and adulthood without the essential tools for adult survival and the sense of responsibility for their actions is barely intact. The nanny state is slowly destroying their sense of independence and personal accountability.
The current culture is weening them towards a life of socialist servitude.
All teens, some teens, start sexually active vs frequency, locker room vs reality. So many factors to spin in so many ways.
The question is, do we try to hold our children to a standard that says they are better than dogs because they can control themselves or do we send the message that they are simply slaves to hormones and they have no hope of having self control over their bodies and their desires.
Personally, telling my daughter she is no better than a dog in heat is something I'm not ready to tell her.
As an older woman, I met several women my age who married as virgins. They seemed to come from a subculture all their own, which I knew little about. Most of them attended evangelical type private schools. I have kids in these schools today. I monitor their emails (without their knowledge) and find that they and their peers do indeed value purity. They have this "determined innocence" which I would have never dreamed possible in the later teen years. Societal pressure works both ways. You just need to create a good society.
.
I asked a late 20's single female who was obviously pregnant:
"With all the information and methods available for birth control how did you manage to get pregnant"?
Her very sincere reply was:
"Well I tell you Mr. B. I just drank too much beer that night".
Later pingout.
