The connection between SoCal schools and pornography[Buried Comedy Gold]
Daily Sundial ^ | 5/16/07 | Lauren Robeson and Sam Womack

Posted on 06/01/2007 12:31:37 AM PDT by bahblahbah

This is a rather long, boring article about CSUN's relationship with the porn industry. They talk about many things, but one of the main subjects had to do with job procurement. To gain extra insight, they interview a Mr. Sam M. about the job he was able to land after earning his degree.

-------------------------

Sam M. found it equally difficult to procure a position after receiving his bachelor's degree in arts in 2004 and has been in a lucrative career as a freelance "fluffer" for porn films for three years.

....

Sam, the CSUN graduate who works as a "fluffer," which requires him to keep the male actor prepared for the next sex act in between takes, said he loves his job.

"I didn't get much help in the way of career choices from CSUN. I felt like they did their job and then gave me the boot and it was up to me to pay them off. I'm really just thankful I got any job at all," he said.

I don’t even want to ask what a fluffer does to prep the
“actor” for the next scene does.

You can't make this stuff up. I wonder how the help wanted ad for this job read?

a 'fluffer' for a 'puffer's' job?

Well, it was either that or do gloryhole work for free at interstate rest stops...

I guess I should feel lucky I managed to get a job outside that industry then.

The standard liberal arts education at most colleges doesn’t really prepare students for the world of work. So upon graduation “fluffing” is one of the only choices open to them.

Ignoring the obvious thread material, just who does he think is in charge of his life?

“I didn’t get much help in the way of career choices from CSUN. I felt like they did their job and then gave me the boot and it was up to me to pay them off.”

Well, yeah. That’s how it works. It’s school. You pay them to hopefully teach you material related to your hopeful choice of career field. You have to decide what you want to do, then once you learn some stuff in that area, you go out and try to find a job. Porn fluffer is not good resume material by the way, at least not if I was hiring.
