Vanity: Hunter Hosted Post-Debate by Tom McClintock for Rallying Opposition to the Amnesty Bill
Free Republic ^ | 6/6/2007 | Old 300

Posted on 06/06/2007 3:39:21 AM PDT by Old 300

Last night after the GOP debates, California 52nd district Congressman Duncan Hunter was hosted by 19th District state Senator Tom McClintock. Senator McClintock hosted a phone conference with California Republic members by invitation only. I was lucky enough to hear about it because I'm on the good Senator's mailing list.

Senator McClintock mixed his own commentary in with interview-style questions for Congressman Hunter, as well as soliciting questions from specific California family callers during the conference.

An outline of the plan is as follows:

  1. Call every United States Senator's office and briefly express opposition to the bill. They're counting the calls.
  2. Write letters to your newspaper editors.
  3. Prepare to organize. Groups like McClintock's CA Republic can help, since this will be a "long fight" and specific events may require group protests and so forth.
  4. Join a campaign like Duncan Hunter's. Congressman Hunter promised to press this issue very hard. (He's going to be on the floor debating this issue around 10am today!)
  5. Put your money where your mouth is and support opposition to this bill financially. McClintock had specific suggestions about that which I will not repeat here.

Senator McClintock gave two web sites as places to visit:

  1. http://www.carepublic.com/
  2. http://www.gohunter08.com/

Another Hunter ping; lots of new stuff coming out since the debate, so ya’ll might want to be prepared.

Anyhow, Hunter will apparently be talking about this amnesty bill today at 10AM. Hopefully we can catch it on C-SPAN.

If we were living in a world of adults that could read Duncan Hunter would be the front runner.

Agreed.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Duncan Hunter is a Member of the House and the debate is in the Senate...

How is he planning to “debate”?

McClintock is a STATE senator, so I’m assuming Old 300 meant as posted (Hunter... in the House).

The House does convene today at 10AM but their schedule isn’t posted.

I hope more people will listen to Hunter. MSM has too often avoided mentioning him.

There is no bill related House bill currently, but they may be introducing a related bill? I don’t know. Now I’m just shootin’ in the air, lol. I guess will know at 10AM. :-)

Maybe anyone who participates can “blog” some notes on this thread?
