I watched the debate and I thought that Huckabee, and Tancrado did very well but Rudy won with the bolt of lighting from God.
I thought Romney looked nervous and stumbled at times and was way too wordy
MA is a lost cause. My sister lived there for 4 years and never could find anyone who admitted to voting for Teddy Kennedy. Yet he keeps on winning...

Exactly the way I see it. And when a candidate LIVES his moral beliefs it should be considered a plus and to his credit. Frankly it's refreshing someone thinks it's refreshing. : )
I didn’t watch the debate last night, but I did hear Romney’s response to the Mormon question. Very well done. I think the response was positive because most Americans are affronted when the MSM questions someone’s beliefs (it reminded me of George W Bush’s response in the 2000 debates.)
The irony of it all is that I think the obsession with the Mormon factor is actually helping Romney. First, because it only gives him more media exposure, and second, because when people see the way that Romney and his family actually live their lives and how Romney graciously conducts himself when he's under pressure or is ridiculed, they realize that all of the attacks on his personal religious beliefs are silly and mundane and they start feeling sympathetic towards him.
I think this overstates Romney’s performance. He did well enough, but seemed to rely on platitudes to the point of being plastic.
It seems, the lightning strike notwithstanding, that Rudy Giuliani gave the best performance on this occasion.

Did you notice how Blitzer cut Romney off as soon as he started giving his answer? He had to talk faster than any of the others who were allowed to ramble on (particularly McCain.) And why the repeating of the Mormon question? It’s been in every debate. Are they trying to get Romney to blow up? He never does. He keeps his cool and gives a pleasant answer every time. Blitzer seems to be trying to make Mormonism an issue. I don’t think it is except for some yahoo with no teeth living in the sticks somewhere.
I was somewhat embarrassed for McCain. And when the lightning struck when Giuliani was talking about abortion. Priceless.
I felt sad when Wolf brought up the fact that some guy refused to shake hands with Romney because Romney is a Mormon. I loved the way Romney answered that. Very proud of Romney.
I agree completely with your analysis. The reason Romney was off is because, it seemed to me, he got fewer questions. And when he tried to answer, Blitzer impatiently cut him off. Giuliani and McCain were allowed to complete their answers and b.s. as long as they wanted. I agree the one question deliberately aimed at Romney (nobody else was singled out) accusing him of being a flip-flopper was a plant. The MSM thinks Romney’s the strongest candidate and they want to knock him out.
I think he could win in PA, too. The voters here are older and more traditionally conservative. Family values are important and Romney has that in spades. He also doesn’t have a Southern drawl. I think Pennsylvanians are thoroughly tired of that schtick. It reminds them too much of Bush who is thoroughly despised here. Santorum was defeated because of his close association with Bush.
We all knew the CNN thing with Wolf had an agenda going in... We just didn't know how it would manifest itself, or at what candidate.
This was Mitt's time in the barrel... Like when Matthews was honing in on Giuliani.
The nasty questions were pointed at Mitt last night, with even the 'Spanish' advertisement question scripted from the audience.
While he handled it OK, I think it took Mitt off has plan... and he was struggling to fit his point in with the boxed questions and limited time to answer.
All in all, he did much better than almost any of the others would have done in the same situation... with the possible exception of Giuliani.

The Liberal Media and liberals overall would prefer to have Guliani, so long as he loses to Hillary.
They were taking potshots at Guliani when early polls showed him most electable ... but NOW POLLS SHOW THAT RUDY IS NO MORE ELECTABLE THAN OTHER REPUBLICANS they will start attacking the main challengers to Rudy.
Expect more liberal media attacks on viable conservatives and complete radio silence on good, solid 2nd tier conservatives (dont want to give them airplay).
You mean by first being in favor of abortion when presenting himself to liberal MA voters; and then being against abortion when presenting himself to national Republican voters.
You mean like the "deep thought" of sitting in a chair in the Oval Office and knowing that the doorway into that office includes a series of Republican primaries?
Just wait til the media asks him the same question Time Magazine finally got around to asking the Mormon prophet: "Do you believe you become a god?" Folks who have absolutely no idea that this supposed "silly" and "mundane" religious tripe will pause & take note. "What? Mormons believe that? I'm voting for somebody who thinks he is a god or can become one?" (The sympathy factor will be cut out)
Many of the candidates have had flip flops in their positions. What you describe is what politicians do, Bush included. He completely scammed Christian conservatives.
This election I am taking a different tactic. I am looking more at the character of the candidates: who they are and what they have achieved. That seems a better predictor. Time will tell.
I am not voting for any establishment, CFR globalist types. They are worse than liberals. They are traitors.
