I consider any American politician giving the unelected, non-American Geldof, Bono, or their ilk the time of day with respect to foreign policy or the spending of American taxpayer's money a farce.

Get your unelected, non-American fingers out of my wallet, Sir Bob.

“I won’t have it spun as anything else ...”

Positively staggering delusions of grandeur.

I agree. If these limousine liberal types want to give handouts then let them raise the money privately.

Asking government to confiscate hard earned dollars just so they can be pi$$ed away on useless "anti-poverty" programs is immoral.

Does Geldof dodge his taxes like Bono?

The ‘Dark Continent’ is almost as big a black hole for money as the Department of Education.

Earth to Bob: Only Africans can solve Africa’s problems.

Give Africa nothing until they get new leadership.

Sending anything to these criminals running these countries is a waste. The people who need it see such a small portion that it is only wasteful.

A third of an ounce of copper jacketed lead properly applied will do more to aid Zimbabwe than all the gold in the G-8.

Geldof’s last gig sold 45 seats out of a 12,000 seat arena in Italy. Quite funny:

How can Bob even consider tripe like this when Paris is in jail?

>Bob Geldof has condemned leaders of the G8 nations for coming up with a deal on Africa

Perhaps African
leaders can come up with a
solution to our

on-going problems
with Paris Hilton. They help
us, then we'll help them...

As he stood next to Bono, who's been shifting his wealth to the Netherlands to avoid Irish taxes.

Whose the farce, Geldof?

The limo libs don’t get it. If they really wanted to help they should try free market solutions. A few years ago when the Amazon Rain Forest was the cause of the moment, various do gooders were running around whining.

The Grateful Dead had what I felt was a good approach, they held concerts and used the ticket proceeds and donations to buy pieces of the Rain Forest and deed it trust to the local tribes occupying the land. Good rational free market solution.
