For those who like to measure progress by numbers, Terrorist Death Watch has an update, with helpful graphics.
Chuck Simmins of TDW had been toiling away diligently, recording the deaths of terrorists as reported by MNF-I flaks. Turns out, they werent reporting them all. Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno had a press conference recently, largely ignored by the press, in which he reported 3,184 terrorists killed since January 2007, and another 1,018 wounded. Simmins took that number, subtracted the ones he had already logged to avoid duplication, and then averaged them out over the last six months. Turns out our soldiers are killing terrorists at a rate of up to 10 to 1.
AP likes death numbers. Why doesnt AP like these death numbers? I read APs Iraq copy every working night. I have not seen these numbers in the AP copy that comes across my screen.
My new tagline.
Now where the heck did he get those casualty numbers for the terrorists? tsk tsk.. you won’t hear those numbers from the MSM. I wonder why?

Fascinating Analysis of Leftist Goals, August 13, 2006
Reviewer: N. Sincerity - See all my reviews
A former 1960s radical, Horowitz is well-acquainted with the Leftist mindset. In this book, he strives to explain the modern alliance between left wing progressivists and radical Islamofascists. He argues that this alliance is based on a common desire to destroy Western capitalism. Leftist sympathy with Islamofascist ideas makes no sense from an intellectual point of view, given that countries ruled by radical Islamists are among the most racist, sexist, theocratic states in the world today. However, Leftists have recognized that they can benefit politically from destructive terrorist attacks on the Western world. A West under attack can be made to turn on its leaders in fear and desperation (as they did in Spain after the Madrid train bombings). Only once people reject current government structures can the Left execute its anti-capitalist revolution and build a new reality that mirrors the Leftist view of utopia.
The complete and utter idealogical hypocrisy of the Islamofascist-Leftist alliance is distressing, but as Horowitz reminds us,

Thanks, I love being the set-up guy. ;-)
God bless our troops.
Major kudos for our Troops.
Ping-do these numbers comport with yours?
Very much so. 10:1 is the LOWEST-BOUND ratio I get, if you include Afghanistan. Looks like they have total enemy dead at about 30,000. I think by now it’s close to 40,000 minimum, 50-000 max.
Excellent post. Thank you.
578 per month. 140 per week. 20 per day. Not bad.
The killers need to know we will not be letting up.
The Democrats prematurely pulled our troops out of a "four-years-freed" South Korea in 1949.
Truman sent troops back in 1950, when SK was invaded (as Republicans and military folks warned).
3,000 Americans died in the first 5 weeks of our attempt to RE-WIN South Korea's freedom. (600 US deaths per week).
30,000 Americans died in the first 30 months. (1,000 US deaths per month).
Pulling troops out of Iraq will lead to similar catastrophe for the Iraqis and for us.
Nice. But wait a minute... I thought that Cindy Sheehag and MoveOn etc claimed that 100s of 1000s have been killed in Iraq...
I really wish he could talk like that during his televised speeches.
On a side note, it was surreal being 15 feet away from a Commander in Chief talking about a war during the war.
