War On Terrorists: By The Numbers --Graphically Presented
Jules Crittenden - Forward Movement ^ | Thursday, June 7, 2007 10:47 pm | Jules Crittenden

For those who like to measure progress by numbers, Terrorist Death Watch has an update, with helpful graphics.

Chuck Simmins of TDW had been toiling away diligently, recording the deaths of terrorists as reported by MNF-I flaks.  Turns out, they weren’t reporting them all. Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno had a press conference recently,  largely ignored by the press, in which he reported 3,184 terrorists killed since January 2007, and another 1,018 wounded.  Simmins took that number, subtracted the ones he had already logged to avoid duplication, and then averaged them out over the last six months. Turns out our soldiers are killing terrorists at a rate of up to 10 to 1.

AP likes death numbers.  Why doesn’t AP like these death numbers?  I read AP’s Iraq copy every working night. I have not seen these numbers in the AP copy that comes across my screen.

Fascinating Analysis of Leftist Goals, August 13, 2006

Reviewer: N. Sincerity - See all my reviews

A former 1960s radical, Horowitz is well-acquainted with the Leftist mindset. In this book, he strives to explain the modern alliance between left wing progressivists and radical Islamofascists. He argues that this alliance is based on a common desire to destroy Western capitalism. Leftist sympathy with Islamofascist ideas makes no sense from an intellectual point of view, given that countries ruled by radical Islamists are among the most racist, sexist, theocratic states in the world today. However, Leftists have recognized that they can benefit politically from destructive terrorist attacks on the Western world. A West under attack can be made to turn on its leaders in fear and desperation (as they did in Spain after the Madrid train bombings). Only once people reject current government structures can the Left execute its anti-capitalist revolution and build a new reality that mirrors the Leftist view of utopia.

The complete and utter idealogical hypocrisy of the Islamofascist-Leftist alliance is distressing, but as Horowitz reminds us,

Leftists radicals truly believe the ends justify the means.

Thank you very much Ernest, this definitely put things in perspective. Please bear in mind that the number of captured terrorists is at least that of those killed, and also not to consider those who are injured among them that die because of lack of good medical care. I think the dead and captured terrorists is over 1500 a month.

God bless our troops.

That’s been the rate since we began, and in real battles it’s been much, much higher.

Very much so. 10:1 is the LOWEST-BOUND ratio I get, if you include Afghanistan. Looks like they have total enemy dead at about 30,000. I think by now it’s close to 40,000 minimum, 50-000 max.

Let us hope the ratio goes to say 10000:0.
Numbers can give some hints as to success or failure. But how can one equate with, say some criminal (let out by Saddam) who is neutral regarding religion/patriotism, who is willing to sit in some hole in a wall for weeks on end, and get paid to then push a button when a HUMVEE drives into town and down the street the clown huddles in.
These statistics do not reflect the real situation. How many Marine and Soldiers have died accidentally riding their tanks and trucks into ditches full of water, and drowned, that are listed amoung combat deaths because they where actively patrolling etc..
I take the numbers with caution when attempting to draw a picture of how our forces are fairing in the field.

3,184 terrorists killed since January 2007

578 per month. 140 per week. 20 per day. Not bad.

The killers need to know we will not be letting up.

The Democrats prematurely pulled our troops out of a "four-years-freed" South Korea in 1949.

Truman sent troops back in 1950, when SK was invaded (as Republicans and military folks warned).

3,000 Americans died in the first 5 weeks of our attempt to RE-WIN South Korea's freedom. (600 US deaths per week).

30,000 Americans died in the first 30 months. (1,000 US deaths per month).

Pulling troops out of Iraq will lead to similar catastrophe for the Iraqis and for us.

Nice. But wait a minute... I thought that Cindy Sheehag and MoveOn etc claimed that 100s of 1000s have been killed in Iraq...

Thanks. I saw President Bush at a fundraiser the other night. He was on fire-very articulate and pointed. No ROP language in his speech. He was very on point about how our armed forces are crushing AQ in Afghanistan, Iraq, Horn of Africa, phillipines, etc...

I really wish he could talk like that during his televised speeches.

On a side note, it was surreal being 15 feet away from a Commander in Chief talking about a war during the war.
