Looked up Michel's ratings on ACU. Pretty consistent conservative guy.

Michel kept his numbers up to deflect from suspicion, but apparently his favorite D.C. pasttime was to golf with Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neill, D-MA.

Bob Michel, the ultimate Dem-hugging RINO who used to wave his medals in anyone’s face when they objected to said hugging?

Is he still around?

Bob Michel, the ultimate Dem-hugging RINO

When the Republicans were in the minority for forty years, there was such a wonderful spirit of cooperation in Congress. /s. There was one party rule with the minority just letting them have their way. The Republicans found our quick enough that the 'rats in the minority would never just go along.

Actually, Michel was and is a nice guy but a loser like Ford and other Country club Pubs of the ‘60’s-90’s. It took Newt to get Pubs to actually win elections. Bob loves to sing and dance and have dinner with Jim Wright and other Dems but rarely spoke forcefully enough to have a Republican agenda which could win. Duncan should run if he wants to be SECDEF in a Pub Administration. Bob M will not aid his cause to win anything.

Duncan Hunter is running, and not for SECDEF, that is an appointment. He is running for POTUS, and not for VP or SECDEF, those are all appointments. I just wanted to clear up any confusion, regards.

Gee, ya think? I am being a realist. I have taught polysci for 45 years. I love Hunter. But, he is not going to be Prez. Ergo, though he is running, he will not win. But, if a Pub wins, he will absolutely be offered a job in the Admin. Either SECDEF or SECSTATE. Ya get it now? And a good one he will be. Of course, with the present state of affairs in the GOP, we may see the Party disappear by ‘08.LOL

"Of course, with the present state of affairs in the GOP, we may see the Party disappear by ‘08"

The "experts" said the same about the DUmocrats....

"...he will not win."

The rest of the field are not conservatives yet think they can BS the base for the next year and a half?

I guess you aren’t a realist. It would seem that I am not either. I suppose you, like I, will continue on in plucky bemusement, ignoring the realistic bleating of the sheeple. When the reality is that our candidates are spoon fed to us via the MSM, who understands the will of the sheeple all too well. When a candidates qualifications need not extend beyond basic name recognition, with a bit of second-rate sophistry added for good measure. When a star-struck electorate is mired in “war chest” comparatives and celebrity worship. When the above is the reality, it is one of which I am most pleased not to be a part. Yet, time after time, after their reality comes to fruition, the sheeple bleat, “He was a wolf, he sold us out”. So, I ask, where is the realism, where is the pragmatism, then?

I am a realist....it can be summed up in something Rush says all the time:

“Conservatism WINS every time it is tried”....guess he’s not much of a realist in the way the RINO supporters would define it either.

Funny that with that mindset and people withholding support due to it, we can only thank you for assuring that the GOP will remain a spineless, gutless, unprincipled group of baffoons that will make sure to it that the party commits suicide in ‘08. I do not see a more needed candidate for the GOP and this nation than Duncan Hunter. It is that mindset that is accepting the direction the GOP has been taking for some time.
