Don’t trust a poll that puts Giuliani in first.

Tancredo has 63% on the Times’ site. Theories?
To: SteveMcKing
I can easily believe Giuilani gains 27% support from Republicans.

Fred has gone from fourth to second in 45 days. I predict that he’s in first by Labor Day, assuming he announces sometime in July.

If Bush was smart, he’d make McCain his Defense Secretary ASAP so this type of news will cause North Korea and Iran to get nuked monthly...

Tancredo stands no chance.

Tancredo stands no chance. I agree, although not all FReepers do.
My post was to ask why the LATimes' online readers would put Tancredo at 63%.
Close enough to the border to see such a bulge?
Poll has been FReeped (or something)?
Other?

Someone's been doing a lot of Freeping for Tom Tancredo. Did you notice who's in first place among the Dems?
I happen to prefer Mike Gravel to Dennis the Menace. Two reasons:
- Not quite as nutty.
- More likely to take a dirt nap.

You misread it ~ the 63% is Thompson.

I agree with the "easy 27%" and suspect his numbers will increase as McCain and Romney lose support.
This is a two-man race, no doubt about it. Rudy and Fred vie for the heart and soul of the GOP.
It's good that we commence this debate in the open, it's been festering in the belly of the GOP for over a decade: Will the GOP be the only residence of the social conservatives? Is it enough that a candidate is economically conservative and strong on defense? Can such a candidate bring the West Coast and the Northeast into the GOP fold electorally? If a social liberal can bring the NE and West Coast into the fold, would the GOP then risk the South?
Remember, the dems were able to SPLIT the social conservatives in the last election, many did vote for dems who opposed gay marriage and abortion.

HA! Thanks b9...
I try to keep from getting infected by looking at LATimes too long - apparently I was a little too quick! Apologies...

Bwaahahha McInsane with 12%.
That 12% must consist of family members, 3rd cousins, crazy aunts locked in the attic and all his democrat friends.
