And we’ve got people worried about ‘conservatives looking bad’ in debating this point! Well, let me say this. This isn’t the time to fight domestic foes while trying to “behave”. This is insanity. To worry about how conservatives are perceieved while they agressively fight for Patriotism and the future of the United States...is but one definition of Insanity! Great picture by the way! :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TANKS,,,I think this is a/the BIG PUSH toward the end game for some of these people,,,NAU/New World Order/NAFTA/ETC.,,, that they all Crave,,,But,,,Then,,,Out Of The Shadows !!?? whack a 20% tax on all funds electronically transferred to banks in Messico and Central America. Some pooter dweeb could write a program in about an hour to do that. Of course it would take Goobermint 4 years and 30 billion just to “study” it first. Then we have to try to get some of our ball-less wonders in Washington to write a bad bill, screw with amendments, press for cloture....

ahhhhhhhhhhhh you get the idea!

LOL

There are many ways that they can get money out.

True enough but remittances are the most widely used because bank accounts are a hassle (ID, deposit requirements, etc).

Were that not the case, you'd just provide the overseas recipient with a CIRRUS ATM card.

eeing clearly that most of this country is against amnesty for 12 million invaders....decides to try and pass an amnesty AGAIN!

For the 4th time.

He has not put so much effort into any other issue.

As I had said, fight the good fight, but do so honorably. That’s not what happened.

As it is, we don’t know if it will come up again in this congress or ot.

Ok, I give up...what is this supposed to mean?
I apologize if I am being dense, but I am missing your meaning entirely.

This is what I posted:
How about starting by doing what they said they would do in 1986? Control the border, enforce the law. Why is that easier after granting amnesty?

And yes it is amnesty. There are no required $9000 fines to get the Z visa, only to get citizenship. They are immediately legal.

Besides, you and I will be paying that $9000 for them via tax breaks - getting "refunds" in excess of taxes paid - and more social programs.

It's really quite ironic when you think about it.

I fail to derive a connection between the post and the reply.

Forgot to mention: today was only the second time in his presidency that he's gone to the Hill to make his case about a pending bill.

So someone who disagrees with you automatically is a liar? That’s too bad for you.

Reading comprehension is not a strong point of yours is it.

My post spotlighted several lies that the President and Tony Snow have tried to foist off on the American people. They're not liars because they don't agree with me, they are liars because what they have told us is obviously, patently, painfully, untrue. They know that if they told the truth their plans for our Country would have even less a chance of happening than they do now.

Believe them if you want. Hide from reality if it makes you feel better. I prefer to keep my eyes wide open.

Everyone has different thoughts on the push behind Ammesty. Whatever people’s motives are for pushing it, it disolves the soveriegnty of the US. The precedant will be the ringing of the proverbial bell to follow in the footsteps of Eastern Europe, and this bell, CAN NOT be un-rung. I can’t believe it’s even being considered 5 years after 9/11, a failure to enforce existing laws, and while we are fighting multiple fronts abroad. Almost unbelievable.

You know, the arguments concerning the semantics of this bill, generally about describing its goal as amnesty, have actually managed to bury the real crimes it contains. (Mind you, I’m not averse to labeling it amnesty – any clear-thinking, non-agenda-driven person knows that it is. But I think the shouts of ‘Amnesty!’ are drowning out what should be more important outcries. Namely the fact that the bill would actually render citizenship something of a detriment rather than a privilege.

The bill most definitely does not accomplish the most critical aspect of ‘immigration reform’. It doesn’t secure the borders. And anyone who claims that the so-called ‘triggers’ in the bill see to it that border security comes first needs to get a reality check.

For instance, supposedly stringent border security measures (such as the building of 370 miles of fence) must be met before z-visas can be issued.

Any American who has been reading between the lines over the past few years has to know that congress has honed into an artform the ignoring, or rendering ‘unrealistic’, of provisions in legislation that do not align with its main agenda. The Secure Fence Act, passed last year, already authorized nearly twice the length of fence stipulated in this so-called ‘trigger’. So why the need for the trigger, and why the foot-dragging on the original act?

The ‘triggers’ amount to a list of border-security measures that the huge majority of the American citizenry wants to see in place before any kind of internal immigration reform takes place. But the ‘triggers’ amount to nothing more than patronizing lies, most or all of which will be declared ‘unrealistic’, after which the much longer list of trigger-dependent provisions will be allowed to go forward. (I believe the supporters of this bill took careful note of Bill Clinton’s promise not to raise taxes, which was conveniently explained away after he ‘discovered’ the magnitude of the deficit. Just as he knew full well when he made his no-new-taxes pledge that he would ignore that pledge, so, too, do the supporters of this bill know full well that the fulfilling of the trigger stipulations will not occur before the other aspects of the bill are initiated.)

The illegals will not suffer at all, if they don’t elect to pursue citizenship. They may avail themselves of everything that you are I do, other than voting. And it is doubtful that even that privilege will be denied them. After all, if tens of thousands of dead people, parakeets, and inhabitants of vacant lots are able to vote in the big-city elections, why shouldn’t we also extrapolate that particular nebulous voting block to soon include tens of thousands of non-citizen illegals?

If this bill becomes law, the average American will soon find himself surrounded by an ocean of non-citizens who cost more than they contribute, who bear no allegiance to our republic, and who will actually be afforded more rights, in relation to their responsibilities, than the rest of us.

The Declaration of Independence speaks fervently of repressions … repeated petitions … repeated injury. I can think of no more sickening repression of the American citizenry than this bill, and no deeper cut than the lies it contains, and the unspoken agenda that it promotes. Our leadership, in both parties, is permanently and irreparably destroying the fabric of our republic, and belittling, degrading and handcuffing those of us who are demanding that they stop. If the spirit of the revolution isn’t at least beginning to stir in us, then the spirit of America is dead.

“I was actually posting an item written by Sister Toldjah and didn’t realize that it wasn’t clear.”

And I imagine you’ve received a lot of replies as a result.

“Where she is fair and on the mark is the conduct on both sides that undermined the very work that was in process.”

Work in process is not necessarily a good thing. Sometimes gridlock is better.

The legal process is brutal.

You expect to pay a high price for something of great value.

The fines don’t seem workable anyway, because these people don’t make high wages. How are they going to come up with the money for the fines, and for their family members?
I read a newspaper article on some illegals who said they wouldn’t pay the fine, they would just keep on as they are. Mainly because they don’t have the money to pay the fine.
So then, would the Dems cry about these poor people and abolish the fines later on? It would not surprise me.

It’s also true that if you don’t catch it immediately, you have a slim chance of recalling the money.

I will tell you that there is no way to stop remittances abroad. The whole system is a derivative of Chinese Fei-Chien, or Flying Money, which was specifically designed to evade taxes and royal Chinese oversight. It's thousands of years old.

Legitimate remittance shops are required to limit amounts sent and to file Currency Transaction Reports to the Treasury. But in practice there is no technical means of stopping it, since Fei Chien depends upon trusted relationships within its community, and not on any particular technology.

I personally know of one longstanding and trusted remittance shop in the area, the owner is a devoted Catholic and is an admired and upstanding member of the community. Her transfer service is efficient to the point of absurdity (I did one transfer which arrived halfway around the world before I'd returned home).

In any case the whole operation runs on a handwritten list of senders, receivers, and amounts, which is faxed abroad twice a day. The receiving office abroad then dispatches his couriers across the region to deliver the cash. Delivery and acknowledgement receipts are typically completed within 12 to 48 hours.

The amounts sent by this shop are typically small, less than $1,000 and usually even less. But in theory there's no difference between a $1 transaction and a $100,000 transaction.

What has happened to our President....(or were we completely fooled from the git go?)

The market has crashed on Bush credibility. The only people coming out ok are those who sold him short.

Unfortunately, I was long on him and I'm taking a beating.

Similar to Hawala I suppose? Same system many terrorists use, it’s a remittance system.

I found the information contained in this to be pretty comprehensive...also, there is a group out in California that is assisting business owners in filing suits against their competitors who hire illegals.
