Has anyone seen the exact wording of the poll? I suspect that it was the most surgar-coated, pro-passage interpretation they could come up with, and that could only get 47% support from the Dems.

I think the poll was probably weighted 49% Americans 49% illegal aliens, a 2% terrorists!

Actually even in La La land 47-47 usually requires extra innings or OT if on the hardwood.

Rats and in trouble on this one. Harry will be on vacation soon.

If this "poll" is accurate, I'm not really surprised.

We tend to think that the Dems are this monolithic robothink organization and usually we're right.

But they have families and their neighborhoods are getting as torn up as the rest of our neighborhoods. They're getting killed by these illegals as much as the rest of us.

Ya got the moonbat left and then ya got the center, no right. and with the exception of the moonbats like Kennedy & Co, there ain't much in it except for the votes for the rest of the Dems. Certainly not to offset the damage and plundering that the illegals are doing to the rest of the country.

Just imho of course.

“Has anyone seen the exact wording of the poll?”

I just checked the Web Site. The “polls” section hasn’t been undated since April 23, 2007.

I think most Democrats will buy the party line until it hits them personally in the pocketbook. That’s what happened here, I believe...

If you’re a CEO, chances are that the costs of providing health care, education and other services to the 12,000,000+ illegals AND their families AND the flood of people that will come if “amnistia” is signed into law won’t affect you. Plus, you can afford the nanny and the maid without worrying about their legal status, which is always a plus for CEOs.

For the remaining 99% of Americans who work for a living and know how to read, it’s pretty obvious that this bill represents the best efforts of Kennedy, McCain and company to put lipstick on a pig.

I think that describes the Hollywierdos and fringe element of the party. The vast majority of Dems are working class people who believe what they hear and see on the MSM. Face it, it is much harder (and time consuming!) to get your news from various sources like we do. If your main source of the news is as theirs is, and given the public school indoctrination that is going on, it is easy to see why they vote Dem.

But, a great many of them (or their parents) fought in WWII and they sure as heck didn't do that so we could surrender our sovereignty to the invaders.

Reprising a version of the House GOP’s “fence bill” from last year, Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Carlsbad (San Diego County), and other members of the House Immigration Reform Caucus introduced a bill they called Secure Borders FIRST (For Integrity, Reform, Safety and anti-Terrorism) to “mandate operational control of all our borders and ensure better enforcement of current U.S. immigration laws.”

“I think the American people are sophisticated enough to know that the way you stop illegal immigration is not to start by announcing you’re going to reward illegal immigration,” Bilbray said. “I know the senators may think that it’s logical what they’re doing, the president may think it’s logical, but it’s as logical to give amnesty at the beginning of immigration reform as it would be to drill a hole in the bottom of a boat to let the water out.”

ROFLMAO.

Sadly, it doesnt matter what most Dems believe. Even if they are good people. Those are people ie the “sheeple” who are not in charge.

I said it on another thread (about a voter betrayed by Nelson (D-FL) and it bears repeating:

The Democrat party is now owned lock, stock and barrel by liberal, globalist, multicultural, feminist, anti-tradition-values, anti-free-market, leftwing socialist ideologues. The left sets the agenda for the Dems, nobody else. It doesnt matter what a room temperature IQ politician does in his personal life, once he’s on the D ticket, those who *write* the ticket will ensure he follows the necessary agenda.

THAT HOLDS TRUE FOR DEMOCRAT VOTERS. It doesn’t matter what their personal qualities are or even what they believe or think they are doing. They are handing over power (and this has been true since the 1960s/1970s) to a New Left ideological cabal that has an agenda to undermine all that made America great. In other words the fringe *runs* the party.

No, the Dem voters are not a monolith, but the power centers in the party, in NYC and DC, are consistent. Most are fooled by it but a few are in on the game.

Maybe this is what that evil genius Karl Rove was thinking about (I doubt it).

He is not a genius. He is dysfunctional analytically. He knows a mountain of statistics, but they relate to yesterday's attitudes. He does not understand how to change attitudes, in a desired direction, and has had Bush trying to out Clinton, Clinton, on social issues for six years, to Bush's destruction.

I stand by my earlier analysis of Rove: Karl Rove Revisited.

Do you doubt me? Why would any rational person forbid a popular Congressman like Tom Tancredo from entering the White House, even if you disagreed with his views? What was Rove to gain for Bush in that? It was an act out of the frustration of a man who knew he could not actually answer Tancredo's argument.

If the Democracy Corps poll is that bad, wonder what an accurate poll would reflect?

Even Democratic voters split -- with 47 percent for and 47 percent against -- after hearing a description of the Senate bill, while most independents and Republicans opposed it.

After it was explained to them by Greenberg and Carville, less than half approved?

Actual numbers must be below the Mendoza line.

Why are the people in the picture flying a Mexican flag? I thought that if you tried to portray the illegal problem as mostly Mexican, that made you a racist.

They aren’t rational!!

I could not agree with you more. One of the recurring themes at my on line Conservative Resource Center, is that the Left--including the Republican Left--are compulsion driven. We are being destroyed by supposedly educated dysrons, who bury their heads in the sands of self-inflicted ignorance, like so many mythical ostriches.

God willing, we will be able to harness the public outcry over this Immigration sell out, to wake our fellow countrymen up!

Republicans are against this bill—including most of them in Congress. If Republicans get aggressive on this issue, they can glean lots of Democrat votes.
