Gardasil has booth in WalMart
Self | June 23, 2007 | DJMacWoW

Hubby went to WalMart in Pennsylvania today. At the main entrance is a Gardasil booth handing out pamphlets. There was a line of parents so Hubby started a rant. He asked the woman why not just teach your daughters to keep their knickers on? Her answer was because they won't. Hubby responded that our daughter is in her 20's and still a virgin. She responded that daughters lie. He offered to let our "female tiger" talk to her.

At that point the woman asked if he was on his cellphone. He said "Yes" And how about this not being tested on 9 to 11 yr olds, your target group" She responded that it's been tested on 12 year olds. He said "You have no idea what the longterm affects of this drug are on reproduction"

At that point she didn't want to spar anymore and said "It's safe". But by then Hubby had already planted doubts and the parents in line had heard it all. I LOVE Hubby.

Anyone else need to visit a WalMart today?

Yes. HPV is necessary for cervical cancer.

It is being marketed as a CANCER VACCINE. The CDC says: Cervical cancer is an uncommon consequence of HPV in women. Merck is lying.

No they're not. The vaccine could prevent probably 65% of cases of cervical cancer.

Boys are not yet part of the marketing target.

Which does not change the fact that the vaccine has been studied in children.

They are marketing a live virus vaccine

Good grief, you have more misinformation. . . This is not a live vaccine. The vaccine is made from capsid proteins that self-assemble to form virus-like particles. No viral DNA is present, this is not a live virus!

They are marketing a live virus vaccine that has NOT passed the 7 year test that will only benefit less than 1% of the female population.

What's the arbitrary point at which you will allow marketing of a vaccine? 1%? 2%? 5%? 10%?

The CDC disagrees with you. Cervical cancer is an uncommon consequence of HPV in women.

1000 is SO many! /sarc

What's the arbitrary point at which you will allow marketing of a vaccine?

Again, my objection is fooling women into believing that Cervical cancer is widespread, it's caused by HPV and that Gardasil is a CANCER vaccine.

I am done with you.

Your logic circuits are broken.

  1. HPV infection is necessary for cervical cancer to develop.
  2. This vaccine is 95% effective at preventing infection by the HPV strains that cause 70% of cervical cancers.
  3. Ergo, using basic math, if women used this vaccine, over 65% of these cases of cancer could be prevented.

How does the CDC disagree with any of these facts?

Again, my objection is fooling women into believing that Cervical cancer is widespread, it's caused by HPV and that Gardasil is a CANCER vaccine.

I saw a Gardasil ad on tv last night and it said thousands of woman are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year. This is true, and it's even more than 10,000. How is that a lie?

HPV is the sole cause of cervical cancer. How is that a lie?

Preventing HPV therefore will prevent cases of cervical cancer. How is that a lie?

I am done with you.

I am done with you. While I can be excessively patient in explaining things to people, when dealing with someone whose agenda for some reason requires repeatedly denying basic facts I eventually lose my patience.

Keep in mind the two groups targeting Christians are the muslims and the homosexuals. Look to the ACLU for the answers and see for yourself that the queer nation is their largest contributor.

About 4,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer per year.

Ergo, using basic math, if women used this vaccine, over 65% of these cases of cancer could be prevented.

Your math is whacked. Gardasil purportedly works on about 3 to 6 of the 40+ HPV viruses out there (how long and how effectively is UNKNOWN)...By age 50, 80% of American women have had some form of HPV - Let's say that around 100 million of which 4,000 contract cervical cancer! And 100% of those cancers could have been successfully treated if found with early detection (Pap)

Three children DIED within hours of receiving the Gardasil vaccine - they didn't have even have the fighting chance that women with Stage 4 cancer have; - 1,700 have had adverse reaction to it - they didn't have a chance...

No one knows the long-term effects of Gardasil. We do know that Merck has a history of lying and covering up. They continued producing and dispensing VIOXX for four years after it was unequivocally proven to increase heart attack and stroke among those taking it. "Merck continues to claim that it did not ignore early warnings about a cardiovascular problem with Vioxx, that there were no studies to prove the case. There were no studies because Merck did not do the kind of research that could have answered questions about cardiovascular risk -- not until the problem became too controversial to ignore." (NJ Star Ledger 11-14-07)

According to the Wall Street Journal, Merck stands to make 65% pure profit on Gardasil ($180/child net), which will go a long way to bail them out for the $10 billion (so far) in damages they are paying out on Vioxx claims.

Your child has a better chance of being struck by lightning than contracting cervical cancer - The odds that she'll develop some horrible cancer or become sterile or die of complications from this drug are as yet UNKNOWN - DES daughters and thalidamide babies ring a bell?...Parents need to stand up for and protect their daughters against Merck's scurrilous profit-driven agenda.

So how much Merck stock do you own?

So can each of you parents on here say that you honestly waited until marriage to engage in ANY sexual activity? I certainly agree with guiding your children to make moral and responsible decisions about their sexual activity. Equally so you are responsible as a parent to educate your children properly about sexual protection. You can’t argue with the failures of not doing so and simply preaching morals, we’ve all seen what happened to poor Bristol Palin

Yes and the wosrt part about this vaccine is the false sense of security it givews. This only protects them from certain HPV strains there are more that cause the same cancers that this doesn’t protect against at all.
