..is this going to be the Rodney King thread?
In my opinion they are both good honest Conservatives.
I’m not sure why Hunter’s campaign never took off but I don’t follow Calif politics much.
A Thompson/Hunter ticket would be great.
Hunter all the way to the White House! :o)
well if “fred” would come out of the bushes and declare, instead of lurking about he might be taken more seriously LOL
I am one that went from Hunter to Fred. Not for anything said or done by either but because I see not much difference in the two except Fred is where I had hoped Duncan would be in the polls.
If it came down to Fred or Duncan for the nomination, I simply do not see a problem with either. I could vote for either man and pray that the winner picks the loser for VP.
Seems like I’m late to the party here, but I agree, there seems to be some vitriol between the two camps for no reason really.
I’m going to vote for either one that makes it past the primary. (I probably won’t be able to vote for either one in the primary, since I’m registered Democrat here in Maryland, and they don’t let Dems vote in Rep primaries here. I registered Dem to get an impact in local elections, trying to elect the least likely candidate, however I’ve tried the last 2 years to register Republican because now I’m disgusted with even the LABEL Dem. For some reason though, when I resubmit a new voter registration with Republican marked on it, I get a new card labeled Dem. Go figure)
I will be able to vote for Fred Thompson without holding my nose.
OTOH, I enthusiastically support Hunter and urge others to vote for him as well.
Thompson / Hunter ticket is the way.
trouble is, Fred is still in the ‘dating’ phase.
While I like Hunter better and believe he would make a far better President, I won’t waste my vote on him if he has no chance to win.
Political loyalty to a candidate ends at the polls when the fate of the country is at stake.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1804334/posts - I wrote this over 3 months ago, and it applies even more today... He’s DOA.
I haven’t heard Hunter speak. He didn’t get to speak much at the republican debate that I saw. I also don’t think he can beat Hillary.
As far as the issues go, I think he’s the candidate that I agree with the most.
However, I’ve heard Fred Thompson speak. He’s on Paul Harvey regularly. I’ve also heard him interviewed on a local radio talk show, and he was great during the interview. After hearing the interview, I got very excited about Thompson. He came across very electable in my mind: correct on conservative issues, very quick witted, and very knowledgeable.
Based on that interview and reading his positions on his website, I’m on the Fred Thompson bandwagon.
BTTT
Wow....this ought to be interesting. Fred was a placeholder for McCain to weaken support for Hunter.
