Two PETA employees accused of stealing a hunting dog and discarding its electronic tracking device are scheduled to go to trial today in Southampton General District Court.

Carrie Beth Edwards and Andrea Florence Benoit face grand larceny and petty larceny charges.

Southampton County police say they pulled over Edwards and Benoit in a van registered to Norfolk-based People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and found the dog inside.

Don’t know why you pinged me ...but these people are STOOOPID. Anyone who abducts or kills someone elses pets for selfish reasons should do jail time. Just like this one guy down here in Fl who took his neighbors cat and dropped it off 10 miles away. JUSTIFIED JAIL TIME in my opinion. Or anyone that shoots their neighbors cat because it steps on their property.

Were I come from, that would be a capital offense.

I hope that you do not mind the ping. I can stop.

You have been on several threads about this general subject.

PETA is another example of liberals who preach one thing, then do the opposite.

There was a story going around Mississippi about how some misanthrope had set a leg-hold trap to catch his neighbor’s’s little house dog. He caught the dog and drug the poor thing back to a remote part of his property and blew it away with a shotgun. Anyway, he didn’t destroy the evidence and was caught and charged. He’s going to be popular in prison.

There are a number of decent people that support PETA that have never been reveled to evils of the organization.

If PETA had their way domestic animals would become an endangered group, because nobody could own a fertile animal.. Zoos would shut down. Most people would never see a wild animal close up. Vegetarianism would be forced on the public. Equestrian sports would be illegal. Dog shows, agility trials, fly ball; outlawed.

It is not unlike communist organizing a revolution. Once they pull off the revolution, death happens.

PETA also makes big money from silly liberals who send them checks and from lawsuit settlements.

It is often ‘easier’ for a victim to give PETA a check so that they go away.

The political agenda is likely believed by the weak, but the leaders are in for the money , for the ‘free’ volunteers who show up during the election campaigns, plus the workers who vote early and often.

“The animal rights movement is DEEPLY misanthropic.”

And completely anthropomorphic. ;)

That means giving HUMAN traits to ANIMALS, but if you can spell ‘misanthropic’ and use it properly in context, you already knew that, LOL!

There’s a reason my cat is sitting here on my desk, looking at me with longing and respect; she reveres me as her goddess, ‘Mommy, Giver of All Foodstuffs.’

As she should. :)

Back when my daughters were in high school they brought home some literature that PETA recruiters had given them. They had questions about it, thank G_d. I read the material and told them that had they had a piece of pure propaganda very similar to what the KKK has been known pass out. Instead of taking advantage of your prejudice, takes advantage of your sympathy. By buying into this stuff you are allowing yourselves to be manipulated by strangers. That was enough explanation for them. .

These groups are connected all over the place :

We’re not sure what possessed Jeffrey Kerr, legal counsel for PETA, to claim in The Des Moines Register this week that his organization “does not support violence.” We don’t know how he can get away with publicly stating that PETA “has never funded convicted Earth Liberation Front Terrorists or any terrorists at all.”

We do know that Kerr’s words are a pure fabrication. PETA has a long history of supporting violent criminals, and has directly given over $100,000 to those convicted of arson, attempted murder, and large-scale vandalism.

I wonder how much George $oreA$$ donates to the these terrorists?

My Dad and one of my uncles used to raise German Shorthair Pointers (bird dogs) for Quail hunting. I can only imagine what would have happened to these terrorists if they had stolen one of their dogs in the 1940/50’s.
