MIAMI - "A clean sweep" is needed at the White House because President Bush has fostered "a culture of cronyism, corruption and incompetence," Hillary Rodham Clinton said Saturday.

The Democratic presidential candidate told nearly 1,000 women at a fundraiser that she would have much work to do at the White House if she won election in 2008.

"After eight years of the Bush administration, we are going to be shocked by what we find," the New York senator and former first lady said. "Somebody said to me the other day if there was ever a time for a woman president it's now because we're going to have to do a lot of cleaning."

The women, many of who brought their daughters to the $100 per plate "Women for Hillary" breakfast, applauded wildly.

"Grab your buckets, grab your brooms," Clinton said. "We're going to have to do a clean sweep because there has been a culture of cronyism, corruption and incompetence."

Bush press spokesman Ari Fleischer confirmed Thursday morning that the Bush White House was reviewing reports of vandalism by departing Clinton-Gore staffers but said no legal action would be taken.

According to Reuters news agency, Fleischer would not confirm the extent of the vandalism, saying Bush wanted to change the political tone to a positive one.

"Whether things were done that were perhaps less gracious than should have been, it is not going to be what President Bush focuses on, nor will it be what his staff focuses on. Whatever may have been done, we are going to just put our heads down and look ahead,'' he said.

We all remember when the Clinton’s moved into the White House. A U-Haul showed up from Arkansas with their meager possessions. Eight years later when they moved out, it took several United Van Lines to carry the loot from the White House to Hillary’s temporary quarters (in her opinion). The big question is: will she move the stuff back in or will she just replace it all at taxpayers expense? My guess is that she will leave all her previous loot in her house in Chappaqua (and the one in DC) and sock it to the taxpayers to replace what she looted from the WH to begin with.

He can easily issue a statement saying that he brought honor and dignity back to the WH after Clinton, but he won't. Apparently he has no problem yukking it up with the Clintons though.

He never fights back because his is not one of us. Bush is one of them. He prefers the company of the Kennedys and Clintons over true conservatives. I was amazed when Bush entered office - he never bothered investigating the rampant corruption in the Clinton administration, which concluded with the selling of presidential pardons. Then Bush refused to do anything about Sandy Berger. But two border patrol agents doing their jobs get 10 years in prison, while their "victim", a drug smuggling Mexican national, got free medical care, immunity from presecution, and a gold-plated green card. I have a feeling the Bushes and Clintons had an agreement in place before 2001. I can't think of a rational explanation to the contrary. If you can, then please share.
