The real cure for global warming
Las Vegas Review Journal ^ | July 1, 2007 | VIN SUPRYNOWICZ

Posted on 07/02/2007 12:29:21 PM PDT by Turret Gunner A20

There are some who, lacking the ecstatic thrill of any other faith-based religion, wish to believe that the Earth is in the early stages of an unprecedented climatic change which will see temperatures soar, the polar ice caps melt, rising sea levels flood our coastal cities -- general devastation on the biblical model -- all because we insist on driving petroleum-fueled private automobiles and using electricity generated by burning coal.

Burning that stuff releases into the atmosphere large amounts of carbon dioxide, you see, a "greenhouse gas" that contributes to the ongoing warming of the planet.

Now, this is almost entirely fantastic nonsense. ...most of the CO? in the atmosphere comes from volcanoes and the natural processes of the oceans, not from man-made sources.

How about examining the historical record for the approximately 200 years for which we have reliable weather data? Look to see if there was a period when the weather cooled down, all of a sudden, and what caused it.

***SNIP***

Google "Year Without a Summer." From April 5 to 15, 1815, Mount Tambora on the island of Sumbawa in the Dutch East Indies (modern-day Indonesia) blew up, ejecting 40 cubic kilometers of volcanic ash (more than twice as much as the 1883 explosion of Krakatoa) into the upper atmosphere.

***SNIP

That stuff stayed up there, in the jet stream, for more than a year.

Clearly, if anyone believes Earth is warming catastrophically and that we need to do something, the onlyproven solution is to start throwing as much crap into the atmosphere as we possibly can, right now.

Houston, Texas

Current temp: 77F
Normal Avg temp: 94F

Obviously, we like global “warming” here is this region of normally oppressive heat.

Just an errant, but recurring thought--what do you suppose Algore's IQ is? The picture is well captioned.

Look for them to want to start throwing virgins into volcanos as part of their global warming religion. They will have to use conservative virgins of course, there aren’t any liberal ones.

If warming continues at the present rate, the most significant impact is likely to be a small increase in the amount of previously frozen ground on which people could grow wheat.

LOL! Vin's kewl.

I’d say the same as the summer tempurature in Houston ... somewhere between 77 and 94.

And I certainly have noted the irony in failing to correctly spell the word “temperature” in the same sentence where I am insulting someone’s IQ ...

... doesn’t bode well for my IQ ... or my timing, for that matter.

The global warming religion is all about imposing a tax on American workers - justified by our use of electricity, driving SUVs, etc - to support the UN, which will in turn use it to support tin pot dictators and failing socialist nations.

They're simply setting up the guilt justification for the coming taxation, in hopes that we won't take up arms to stop their plan.

I find it amusing that for the past several summers I have seen people on television talking about the “unusually” hot weather every time the temp goes up to what is normal in summer. I swear every summer here in normally sweltering South Carolina is cooler than the last one. It is now 4:50 P.M. and the temp is around 75 which is about twenty degrees lower than I would have expected. Give me more of this “global warming”. Twenty five or thirty years ago the hunters were grumbling because they couldn’t sit on a deer stand in the fall without wiping sweat.
