The Lying Game - NYT Kinsley Nutter Barf Alert
New York Times ^ | 07/05/2007 | Michael Kinsley

Posted on 07/05/2007 6:06:53 AM PDT by Loud Mime

WHEN the Republicans in Congress impeached President Bill Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, they insisted that it wasn’t about sex, it was about lying. Of course that wasn’t true. Even at the height of their power-mad self-delusions (when Newt Gingrich was conducting his own affair with an aide while prosecuting the president), Republicans realized that to make lying an impeachable offense was opening a door no politician should eagerly walk through.

Bush Derangement Syndrome at an intersection with the conceited selectivity necessary to kneel before the liberal gods.

How can an educated mind ignore logic?

So, when is a felony, not a felony?

There are plenty of people in federal pens for committing perjury.

Kinsley’s mind has always been able to ignore logic.

He’s like a better educated Alan Colmes.

Kinsley simply writes a piece that, at its core, accepts Joe Wilson as credible and that the admin was trying to silence him rather than they were trying to rebut charges from a man that the Senate 9/11 Commission found to be unbelievable.

How can an educated mind ignore logic?

Being a Gay Liberal seems to achieve that end.

The strange point is that Kinsley cannot fathom the idea that lying under oath is perjury. It sticks with Libby, but not with Clinton?

The more I study these moonbats, the more I realize that Derangement is the appropriate term for their inability to grasp the truth.

Lessee — perjury by a defendant in a workplace sexual harassment case?

Sounds like something the feminists should have been up on their broomsticks about — but weren’t.

Liberalism is indeed a mental illness.

Who was it that said they would gladly service Bill Clinton for keeping abortion legal? One depraved act following another.

I wonder how many liberals would love to be raped by him; both sexes?

They’re sick.....that’s for sure.

... So as much as I dislike the war in Iraq, as much as I dislike President Bush, as much as I expect that I would dislike Mr. Libby if I ever met him, I feel that he should not have had to face a perjury trap: the choice between prison for lying, or prison for his role in a set of transactions that the press regards as not merely O.K. but sacrosanct. In fact, if journalists had a more reasonable view about this, the reporters whom Mr. Libby tried to peddle this story to would have said, “Look, outing C.I.A. agents is bad and we are not going to help you do it anonymously.” I bet that today, commuted sentence and all, Mr. Libby wishes they had done just that.

Well he manages to hit all the lib talking points only to come to a tortuous conclusion that Libby was screwed. He even has a closet admission that Libby did not even violate the C.I.A. disclosure law. Bascially a bit of crying over his loss of administration sources now that it might involve the leaker going to jail and the leakee being obligated to divulge their sources.

Kingsley's point seems to be If only journalists were honorable, if only they were patriots, if only they'd done the right thing,

That's big "If" ing, Michael.

Perjury & Obstruction of Justice are not merely lying. Clinton lied under oath about matters pertinent to the case and tampered with a judicial proceding, coaching his secretary to lie as well. He knowingly submitted a false affidavit. He's was also the President, not an assistant to the VP. His punishment was higher approval ratings and a bunch of legal bills his friends paid off.

Other than than, ferret-face, it's a spot-on analogy.

Then there’s the constitution’s demand that the president shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.....

Kinsley is lying just like a good liberal should lie.

Only in a liberal’s mind can you reach the conclusion that Bill Clinton impeached only for sex.

And yes, he received far less punishment than Scooter Libby has.

When one considers the fact that Kinsley is a Saul Alinsky product and one who follows and admires Marx and uses his instructions to lie and lie, then one understands this little man, Kinsley..
Michael, you should have stayed in retirement, you must have been approached by Move On or the Slimes because of your extremely disgusting ability to lie, smear and twist the facts. Does the fact that Sandy Burgler, the paper shredder, received a slap on the wrist or is it the usual arrogant stance that DemocRATs take whenever they are confronted with their criminal activities

Even when delusional lefties like Kingsley try to claim that clinton’s impeachment was about sex they are missing the point.

Despite the fact is common knowledge that clinton was a serial adulterer no one ever attempted to prosecute on the basis of his moral turpitude he displayed in his private life.

The Lewinsky scandal was NOT a private matter, it was SEX IN THE WORKPLACE and WE were the EMPLOYER.

The Lewinsky scandal was, of course, about perjury, the suborning of perjury, and obstruction of justice, not sex at all.

What he did on his own time with other women was never discussed other than it went to establish a pattern of behavior.

"It takes two to leak."

Oh, this is too good. NYT does the Simpsons.

It takes two to lie, Marge. One to lie and one to listen.
