Miss New Jersey has received a second threatening package from someone trying to blackmail her into relinquishing her crown, her attorney says.Anthony Caruso, an attorney for Amy Polumbo, said that he was notified about the package Saturday and that it contained a threatening letter and possibly new photographs of the 22-year-old woman.
Caruso would not comment Sunday on the exact contents of the package or say who received it, but said he had given it to state investigators.

It’s pretty straightforward: Quit your job or else I will expose embarassing secrets about you.
All the other “what ifs” in your post really don’t apply to this situation. I mean, what if the moon is made of cheese? ;^)
All none of it : )
We just wanna see pictures. ;-)
where the art??? 8^)
Why did this show up on my search for Miss New Jersey ?
The reigning Miss New Jersey claims someone is using photographs she posted on the Internet to try to force her to give up her crown.
Amy Polumbo and her attorney held a news conference at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park this afternoon to denounce the blackmail attempt.
The 22-year-old Howell woman said she received copies of between six and 12 of her photos in the mail on June 25 with a letter threatening to make them public unless she gives up her crown to the pageants first runner-up.
Being crowned as Miss New Jersey is a dream come true. But that dream has now turned into a nightmare. I am presently the victim of blackmail and possible extortion, Polumbo said.
Neither Polumbo nor her attorney, Anthony R. Caruso, would describe the photos, except to say that they are not lewd. They are shots Polumbo posted in a private section of an Internet photo-sharing site so her friends and family could see them, Polumbo said. Carouso said they appear to have been doctored. He is contacting state and federal authorities to identify the source of the alleged blackmail, who is believed to be someone close to Amy, Caruso said.
We hope to have much more information as to the sources of this threat in the very near future, Caruso said. Until then, we are refraining from further comment as to the specifics of the photos or the letter.
Polumbos aunt, Cathy Capper, said after the news conference that the photos are not at all revealing. In fact, she said, her niece appeared in less clothing during the swimsuit completion at the Miss New Jersey pageant where she won her title.
The beauty queens coach also rushed to her defense.
She came to me a year ago with a dream. She showed me a Miss America Coloring Book that her Dad who passed away when she was small gave to her, said Darlene Corrubia, herself a former Miss Monmouth County. I have coached lots of young women with personal issues. Amy is kind and sincere. That will get her through this.
There is a rich recent tradition of beauty pageant contestants being forced to return their tiaras.
Ashley Harder, last years Miss New Jersey USA, resigned in January because she was pregnant. Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees was stripped of her title after racy photos of her appeared on the Internet. And Miss USA Tara Conner was caught drinking in New York bars before she turned 21. Conner was allowed to keep her crown after she agreed to enter rehab.
If Polumbo did step down for some reason, first runner-up Ronica Licciardello would become Miss New Jersey.
Reached by phone at her Mount Laurel home today, Licciardello told the Associated Press she had not heard of the scandal. I hope this situation is resolved in the best way possible, she said.
a “job?” Winning a beauty contest is a “job?”
Good grief.

Thanks for posting what we all wanted to see. She’s cute. Funny thing is, I can see women just as or more beautiful than her fairly often. Maybe my beauty detector is off, but she is like Lady Diana, pretty but nothing that other women are not.
Received a Black Male Package.... I’ll bet she was surprised!
I thought of the perky one, at first glimpse.
Then I focused in a little bit...LOL
What the hell is possibly?! Either it did or it didn't.
Second, the attorney seems to be going out of his way to mitigate the content of the pics. However, the article is quite clear it isn’t the pics themselves that seem to be the scandalous issue, but the captions written alongside them. The pics could be something rather pedestrian like bikini shots, however, if they are accompanied with ribald or graphic comments, and they are in her handwriting, well that could be a problem. There claim that the pics look to be tampered with signals there initial defense when they are made public is that although the pics are hers, the captions are not. Might be a sticky wicket if it was a private posting site only she had access to.
Third, I’m not sure this could be a legal blackmail situation. Let’s say the pics and captions are legitimate, the perp might be a pageant supporter who wishes to see it avoid a messy scandal. Sending a message to the effect “There are compromising pictures of you that you are aware of that may be made public. For the good of the pageant and your own reputation, I strongly urge you step down to avoid a he potential of a messy and damaging scandal for yourself and the pageant.”
Notice, they didn’t demand money.
Stand up and don’t give up.
Thanks! (Thread is now worth something.)
You've been around here long enough to see the playful mischief that Photoshop can do. What is possibily happening to Miss New Jersey is not playful, though. I am very intrigued about why someone would target this young woman in such a way.
If he threatens to publish embarassing information if he does not grant his demands, it is blackmail.
If he just publishes them without making demands, he is a slimy bastard, but it is not blackmail.
If she found out that he was going to publish and asked that he not, offering to do something like give up her crown, it’s still not blackmail, but it is still slimy.
So, the answer to your question is “yes”.
re-read your post. I would guess that most blackmail concerns true information. YOu know, cheating wife who left letters, evidence of embezzlement or murder, violation of company policies at work.
After all, most people would fight false accusations, wouldn’t they?
