Is Bush gonna let Feinstein do him better on this one?

If Feinstein can get them out that will do.

Believe not, Senator Feinstein has been a big help to the Ramos family. She has helped Monica get more visitation.

If she can manage to make Jorge look bad she will do it. JWB gave the dems a big bone on this one.

I am not trying to start an argument, but why we are making Ramos and Compean heroes??

They not only broke the law, but also they made it impossible for Aldrete-Davila to ever be prosecuted.

What more can be said and what am I missing in the case?

I'll be grateful to anybody in writing if they undo this travesty.

They are not heroes but Johnny Sutton is the guy who deserves a spit shoved up his ass. There are claims that they shot an unarmed man in the ass while he was running away and then covered it up. The evidence shows other angles. That Sutton gave a drug runner a free pass to testify against these guys is shamefull. They could have been suspended or even fired for their actions. Not thrown in jail with the same types of people who they tried to keep out of the US.

They were offered a deal which they rejected.

Here is an insightful analisis of the constitutional aspects of agents’ convictions. The author claims, and very convincingly so, that the smuggler had no constitutional rioghts in the U.S. that the agents allegedly violated. I wonder if their lawyers are aware of this neat argument.

That still doesn’t excuse their sorry behavior as individuals sworn to uphold to the law.

The main problem is that the punishment doesn't fit the crime. It smacks of intimidation in order to keep the Border Patrol from doing its job.

That still doesn’t excuse their sorry behavior as individuals sworn to uphold to the law.

There have been many law enforcement officials who have beaten or killed American citizens sometimes even innocent ones and rarely do they get 11 years. Most of the time they are fired, if what they did was in the line of duty. Most of the time they are given the benefit of the doubt.

Ramos and Campeon should have their sentence commuted and be fired, thats it.

The problem I have with commutation is that they were given a chance to pled down, and refuse to do so.

Had they not covered it up and lied, I would have agreed.

Why they are the poster men for Immigration control is beyond me.

Maybe they believed they were innocent. Maybe their lawyer advised them not to take the offer.
