A corrupt U.S. border agent sitting in a federal prison cell is offering a chilling view of the Mexican drug cartels whose drug shipments he protected for years in return for hefty bribes. He is so terrified of the cartel's famous vicious streak that he fears for his own life -- and the lives of his family -- if he is identified as speaking to ABC News. He depicts a dangerously paranoid crime organization that has spies throughout U.S. law enforcement. To illustrate the cartel's pervasive reach, he said he got his introduction to them through an American cop. From...

PHOENIX — A Mexican man was climbing a ladder when a Border Patrol agent fatally shot him three times, a sheriff's spokeswoman told The Associated Press on Monday. Cochise County sheriff's investigators have no indication that Carlos La Madrid, 19, assaulted or tried to assault the agent when he was shot March 21, said agency spokeswoman Carol Capas. La Madrid had fled police in the Arizona border city of Douglas in a truck and drove to the border with Mexico. He was climbing a ladder and trying to cross the border, and another man atop the wall began throwing rocks...

The defendant remains in custody pending sentencing. “In Arizona, Border Patrol Agents risk their lives on a daily basis patrolling in remote desert canyons and other harsh...

In Juarez, Mexico -- just over the border from El Paso, TX -- the drug cartels are demanding protection money from the local churches, and failure to pay can have deadly consequences. The devil's army walks the earth, and the degenerate narco insurgents would murder Jesus Christ himself for thirty pieces of silver. Hope the American pot-smoking coke-snorting smack-injecting consumers who are financially backing the Mexican drug cartels are enjoying their bloody partying.

FORT HANCOCK (August 16, 2010)--U.S. Border Patrol agents are killing themselves in greater numbers, after nearly four years without one suicide, according to records The Associated Press obtained that show that at least 15 agents have taken their own lives since February 2008. That’s the largest spike in suicides the agency has seen in at least 20 years, but it’s unclear exactly why the men ended their lives. Few left notes. Federal officials insist the deaths have nothing to do with the agency or the increasingly volatile U.S.-Mexico border, but administrators have quietly undertaken urgent suicide-prevention initiatives. Those include special...

Agent Robert Rosas, 30, was shot and killed on July 23, 2009 by a group Mexican citizens illegally crossing the border near Campo. Claremont-based anti-illegal immigration group, We The People, California's Crusader, organized the vigil. The group passed a card for Rosas' wife and two young children. "We're keeping his memory alive," said Robin Hvidston, member of We The People. "He didn't give his live in vain. We the American public, the people, appreciate that he paid the ultimate sacrifice, the giving of his life." Rosas was shot multiple times in the back of the head after investigating suspicious activity...

The bloodbath continues along our southern border and now word is coming in that Los Zetas, the highly trained killers formerly with the Gulf Cartel, have crossed into the United States and taken over at least two ranches in the Laredo, Texas area. I am receiving word that the owners of the ranches have evacuated without being harmed. As of this hour I cannot confirm 100% on the situation (I am at around 90%) - though the source is law enforcement in the area. The ranches are said to be "near Mines Rd. and Minerales Rd. about 10 miles NW...

Early in the 90’s, we saw a militarization of this area...and an enormous jump in the number of Border Patrol agents and their various apparatuses,” Velarde said. “In the case of Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka, he was killed point blank by a Border Patrol agent. It’s a very ... violent space, as we see the mix of people” and the “state repression that exists there in all its forms.” Velarde compared the U.S.-Mexico border to occupied Palestine. He said: “The similarities are so obvious, especially to somebody who lives on the border. The fact that they can justify deadly force...

The 15-year-old Mexican boy who was shot dead by a Border Patrol agent as U.S. authorities came under attack along the border Tuesday was known to authorities as a juvenile smuggler, sources close to the investigation told Fox News. Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka was shot once near the eye as U.S. Border Patrol agents on bicycles were "assaulted with rocks" as they tried to detain illegal immigrants on the Texas side of the Rio Grande. Huereka was charged with alien smuggling in 2009, according to sources who requested anonymity. Further details were not immediately available.

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) — Pointing their rifles, Mexican security forces chased away U.S. authorities investigating the shooting of a 15-year-old Mexican by a U.S. Border Patrol agent on the banks of the Rio Grande, the FBI and witnesses told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The killing of the Mexican by U.S. authorities — the second in less than two weeks — has exposed the distrust between the two countries that lies just below the surface, and has enraged Mexicans who see the death of the boy on Mexican soil as an act of murder. Shortly after the boy was...

A few of us moved Watch operations to I-8 and Sunrise Hwy. Right off the bat, (upon arriving), one of the Border Watcher's spotted a load vehicle on the East side of Sunrise Hwy., across from Old Hwy.80 (North side of I-8). The load vehicle had just completed a load up of suspected illegal Border Intruders, with one (Intruder), not...

Christopher Daniel Castro-Alvarez, 17, pled guilty in federal court Friday to charges of murdering Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas during a robbery. In court, he testified that he and others lured Rosas from his vehicle to rob him. But Britt Craig, who heard the fatal shots and spoke with Rosas shortly before the Agent was killed, told East County Magazine that he does not believe that the story is plausible.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA – About a dozen people met at a Rancho Santa Margarita corner this morning to honor a border patrol agent killed in July and to voice their objections to illegal immigration. At a vigil at Avenida Empresa and Avenida de Las Banderas, Orange County residents held candles, American flags and signs that said "Stop Illegal Immigration" and "Where's the outrage" with a picture of slain border patrol agent Robert Rosas.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA A Mission Viejo man who said he witnessed the killing of Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas last month plans to host a vigil for him Friday before a health care town hall meeting. Minuteman Britt Craig, a 60-year-old who splits his time between his Mission Viejo home and the Campo border, is possibly the only civilian to have witnessed Rosas' fatal shooting on July 23. Craig is asking the public to join him with American flags, candles and signs from 6 to 7 a.m. at 29947 Avenida de Las Banderas in Rancho Santa Margarita. That's where Congressman...

The Border Patrol has beefed up its operations in San Diego in response to the death of an agent last month. The agent, Robert Rosas, was killed while patrolling the border in Campo. I believe that too many citizens — among them certain specific segments of the media and some politicians — lack respect for both our borders and for our nation’s Border Patrol Agents. There is a collective blindness to the realities of what our Border Patrol Agents face at the borders, both South and North. To paraphrase myself, our borders and our Border Patrol Agents get no respect. About 4,000 people packed a memorial service for Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas, who was shot and killed at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009. Photo courtesy of Brad J. Mellon,...

Federal officials added a quarter-million dollars to the already enormous FBI reward for information leading to the killer(s) of Agent Robert Rosas. Rosas's body was found on the night of July 23 near Campo. The 30-year-old agent was killed while responding alone to a suspected border incursion near Campo. He was shot in the head and body, said Keith Slotter, special agent in charge of the FBI's San Diego bureau. The $250,000 reward offered Thursday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection is in addition to the $100,000 put up by the FBI last month. Both rewards are for the arrest...

There is growing skepticism that the Mexican government has the right people. We have also heard from reliable sources that the murder was done in retaliation for a stopped drug load the week prior, when they tried to run a truck through the border fence. The weathered face and dusty garb gazed at the white metal cross stretching toward the blue-desert sky. "This should not have happened," explained Britt Craig, a Minuteman who shares his time between his home in Mission Viejo and his calling, Campo. The newly erected cross marks the spot where, officials say, a smuggling suspect gunned down Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas more than a week ago.

SAN DIEGO — The FBI is offering $10,000 for help finding the gun of a Border Patrol agent who was slain last week in a rugged area outside San Diego. The FBI says Rosas carried a black Heckler & Koch P2000, a .40-caliber gun. Mexican authorities have detained five men in connection with the case. They say one of them — 36-year-old Ernesto Parra Valenzuela — carried a 9 mm pistol when he was captured.

The US Supreme Court will not hear the appeals of US Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. The refusal lets stand the opinion of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals affirming the convictions and the sentences of the agents. Although this effectively ends the agents’ hopes to have their felony convictions overturned, they are now free men thanks to a last minute commutation of their 10-year sentences by President Bush. Had it not been for Bush’s action, the Supreme Court’s refusal to hear the case would likely have meant the agents would have served their full sentences. Nonetheless,...

The two cities of El Paso and Denver are 800 miles apart, but they both exist in the rarified world of "sanctuary cities," where mayors and city officials love to proclaim, "We welcome all immigrants, regardless of immigration status." This is PC code for welcoming illegal aliens, but it also means they welcome the prosecution of Border Patrol agents and immigration enforcement agents who take their jobs too seriously. The prosecution, imprisonment and eventual release of El Paso Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean made headlines for two years, but few Americans outside Denver have ever heard of...

Former U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who were given long jail terms for shooting at a fleeing drug smuggler, today told Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck that they were sustained by prayers of the American people and their spirits were lifted by their letters. They just were released from ankle bracelet restrictions and still face limits on with whom they can talk. One of...

Former U.S. Border Patrol agent Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos wakes up in the middle of the night expecting a guard to shine a flashlight in his face. Jose Alonso Compean, his colleague, still has nightmares that he's not really home. It has not been easy readjusting to life outside their one-man prison cells where they spent the last two years of their lives in segregation. Since the commutation of their sentences by President Bush on his last day in office, the former agents, who were charged with the non-fatal shooting of a Mexican national after he abandoned a load of marijuana...

Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean were released last month from federal prison after serving more than two years in solitary confinement for the non-fatal shooting of a Mexican drug smuggler. President Bush commuted the sentences of the two border guards Jan. 19 and his order went into effect yesterday. They had spent the last month in home confinement and are now finally free. Glenn Beck has covered this story for years and was at the forefront of the movement to get President Bush to commute their sentences. These two men are truly American heroes. Welcome back!

Nearly 200 miles west, on California’s Pacific shores, the Rev. John Fanestil spends every Sunday at Friendship Park, where people on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border touch hands and talk through holes in a chain-link fence. For decades, the dunes and Friendship Park were virtually unchanged. But in its final months, as the Bush administration raced to fulfill a pledge to erect 670 miles of fencing and vehicle barriers on the border, they were transformed almost overnight.
