For what great nation is there
that has God so near to it,
as the Lord our God is to us,
for whatever reason we may call upon Him?
Without You, Lord, life makes no sense. You must be the center, the core of our existence. Apart from You, there is a meaningless vacuum where neither purpose nor meaning can be realized. Lord, who can deny Your sovereign holiness? What can compare with Your power and greatness? Holy Lord, Your Name is greater than any other, and Your truth neither changes nor fails. You are the Mighty and Awesome God of the Universe, and we come before You with humble hearts fixed upon You. Blessed are You, our Holy God. We are grateful to talk to our Creator today.
Father, our country’s leader is besieged from all sides. We are no longer surprised or dismayed at the attacks against him. We commit his enemies to You and pray that the eyes of their hearts would be enlightened. We pray that our President will have a stable mind, a steadfast heart, and a spirit inclined to Your voice. Lord, lead him away from the din and frenzied pace of his life, and take him to a quiet place of renewal and restoration with You each day. May his burdens be placed at the foot of the Cross, and may he accept Your invitation to cast all his cares upon You. Be his reason for living, Lord, and help him to fulfill the purposes You have for his life.
Be a shield for our courageous military men and women, Lord, and may this time in their lives be filled with opportunities to know You better. May each one learn to rely upon You to supply their every need. Help them to feel the love and support of our grateful nation, Father, and may each one return safely home at the appointed time.
Lord, our country needs You more each day as standards of behavior continue to plummet and acceptance of deviancy and sin becomes commonplace. We are like ships, flailing about upon the stormy seas. We have lost our way, and the only way back to the Cross is through You. Turn us back to You, O Lord, and we shall be turned. Renew our days as of old. Help us, Father, to shun the ways of this world, and to be extraordinary Christians, making a difference just as Christ’s disciples did. You have given us the power and ability that stands behind the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. May we never ignore or misuse Your precious gifts, but may we use them each day for Your glory. Help us to remember the temporary nature of this world as we look forward to eternity with You. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

O God, how we need forbearance through the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ. How we need a newness of repentance, in ourselves and in our nation. How we need to totally plead the protection of the Heavenlies around our President and his administration, that right would prevail.
And we know it will be so, Merciful Father, if not now, then in due course, for You have assured us that Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. May Your children understand that this is limitless power that You have given us, that through its use, Your Kingdom truly will come ... Your Will truly will be done ... on this beleaguered earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil ...
For Thine is the Kingdom
And the Power
And the Glory
Forever ... Amen

Yes, Lord, we agree in prayer for our nation and for our president. We give you all the glory, for you alone deserve all our praise. Thank you for revealing the plot to bomb the Spanish ferry. We asked you to foil wicked plots, and you so graciously and powerfully answered our petitions! Halleluia!
With renewed faith, we ask you to continue to expose and foil all wicked plots, not only in the War against Islamofascists, but in any arena. We ask you to bless George W. Bush, protect and guide him, and give him wisdom and insight. Please also grant him your favor, the favor of the King, so he may be persuasive in convincing others to follow his lead.
