Should We Demand That John Murtha Apologize to Lance Cpl. Justin L. Sharratt?
Wall Street Journal Best of the Web and others ^ | 11 July 2007 | various

Posted on 07/11/2007 2:06:36 PM PDT by JOHN ADAMS

Today's Best of the Web contains a nice item noting that the government has dropped its case against one of the Marines accused of murdering Iraqi civilians. They note that John Murtha had adopted the prosecution's view of the world and repeated the accusation, and they now ask whether Murtha will apologize.

Says the Journal: "This was the incident in which Rep. John Murtha accused the Marines of killing Iraqis "in cold blood"--a charge, as we noted in May 2006, that was self-contradictory. In November ScrippsNews reported that Cpl. Sharratt's parents were "enraged" with Murtha, who is their congressman. Perhaps it's time for him to apologize."

My question for this Board is, shouldn't there be a little agitation to propogate this very sensible request for an apology? And isn't the community of Freepers the right place for that demand to get rolling?

Any just who do we think would ask him for an apology? His friends in the media?

To them reality is irrelevant.

From Rush In a Hurry...

"Where is Congressman Jack Murtha's apology? An investigating officer has recommended dismissing murder charges against the Marine accused in the slayings of Iraqis in Haditha. Meanwhile in Ohio, an anti-war lunatic shot a U.S. Airman in the chest, then committed suicide. The guy's suicide note complains about Katrina, Bush and the Iraq war. You won't see this reported anywhere in the Drive-By Media."

I don’t want an apology, I want a resignation followed by Seppuku.

Yes, we should. He should not only apologize, but thank this brave young man for his service to his country—service, it should be noted, that keeps Murtha’s big fat sorry *ss safe.

YES! Absolutely, YES!

California Conservative site called Murtha's office asking for a statement. After being prodded three times, the spokeswoman could only say, "Congressman Murtha doesn’t have a statement because the investigation is still ongoing.”

What a Hypocrite! That didn't stop him from calling these Marines "cold-blooded murderers" on national TV. So, Yes. Let's Roll.

Murtha should resign in cold blood. At the least, he should voted out of office in cold blood.

There - a memorable campaign slogan to defeat him in ‘08.

No, of course not. An apology from a creep is worth less than nada.

LOL. Already coming up with campaign slogans for his opponent? It’s good to be forward-thinking!

Murtha would have to be cold-blooded, himself, to turn on his own Marine Corps. He should have known better. His words are coming back to haunt him.

Thanks for the ping.

Yes he should apologize but there’s no way he will, IMO. The POS is lower than a snake!
