I can remember when one could buy a pack of cigarettes for less than this one tax increase, but if its for the chiiiiiiiilllllllldrrrrrrennnnn....

Does anyone know how tax hikes on cigarettes relate to other tobacco products like snuff, chewing tobacco, pipe tobacco and cigars? Do the states or federal tax statutes have mechanisms that automatically bump up the non-cigarette product taxes by some amount whenever cigarette taxes are increased? I'm not sure about the feds, but some states do have such a mechanism.
As a general rule OTP (other tobacco products)tend to be taxed on the wholesale price, where cigarettes are taxed per cigarette.
For information, here is a planning and promotional document for training of allies in the battle to hike tobacco taxes everywhere:
Yes, RWJF has it's handprints all over anything that is anti tobacco-------they are also major gun grabbers, anti-booze (they now control MADD), and are major funders of PETA, CSPI, and other such anti meat organizations.

Being from Alabama,I know they already have a tax(air tax on service stations). No one knows where it goes. So what do you do? Rebel and go to jail, or pay it and simmer with rage. Call and email your congressman, worry the hell out of him or her. Prices on ammo is going out of this world. But I still buy it when I can, never know when you will need it!

Growing tobacco for personal use is perfectly legal. You are limited to 1/10 of an acre, which is approxiamately 4,500 square feet which is a lot of space.
Tobacco seeds, and all kinds of info fo growing and curing your own can be found at Seedman.com

TAXMAN
George Harrison
Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
‘Cause I’m the taxman
Yeah, I’m the taxman
Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
‘Cause I’m the taxman
Yeah, I’m the taxman
(If you drive a car car) I’ll tax the street
(If you try to sit sit) I’ll tax your seat
(If you get too cold cold) I’ll tax the heat
(If you take a walk walk) I’ll tax your feet
Taxman!
‘Cause I’m the taxman
Yeah, I’m the taxman
Don’t ask me what I want it for
(Ah, ah, Mr. Wilson)
If you don’t want to pay some more
(Ah, ah, Mr. Heath)
‘Cause I’m the taxman
Yeah, I’m the taxman
Now my advise for those who die
(Taxman!)
Declare the pennies on your eyes
(Taxman!)
‘Cause I’m the taxman
Yeah, I’m the taxman
And you’re working for no one, but me
(Taxman!)

What a crock. Just ban tobacco already. This 'Death By a Thousand Cuts' is getting pretty old; and I don't even smoke! My fear is that Chocolate is next.

We have a similar machine, but it’s a Supermatic II.
When I can get my tobacco in pound bags, my cigarettes run about 60 cents a pack, when I can only get the 6.1oz bags, it runs me closer to your 70-80 cents per pack price.
still far better to regular brand prices, and without all the nasty additive the manufacturers add to their product.

When I was 17, a pack of cigarettes cost 17 cents. I no longer smoke, and do not enjoy the odor of smoking or of smokers, but I don’t think the gubmint should impose high taxes on cigarettes in order to control the individual’s freedom to smoke.
