If it weren't for family it (move to PA) would have happened a long time ago. It tells you how bad it is in Maryland when Pennsylvania looks attractive.

Don't get me wrong, I really like PA. But their tax structure does not make it a "mecca" for conservatives either. Why they have city taxes, borough taxes, county taxes, state income taxes and even an occupation tax.

MoM the new Glendenning

Oh, God, get me a barf bucket. I don't even live in Maryland, and I hate that arrogant POS Glendenning. I can barely think of anyone I'd rather slap than Glendenning.

The funny thing was Glendenning was raving about how MoM was a “breath of fresh air after the evils of Ehrlich.” This was of course after MoM won, I really hate the electorate here in MD, sheeple is too good an epitath for them.

Cheers,
CSG

My bad. Should have said, they could have had a Republican who had already proven he was not hell bent on raising their taxes. I have Michael Steele on the brain because he was on TV talking about Maryland taxes the other day. He’s a great guy and should be in charge of something.

My DIL is a real estate agent in Silver Spring, she’s done pretty well selling lately.

Keep in mind my job is in Pikesville so regardless I’ll ned to be reasonably close to that area.

I used to live in Maryland, *many* lo the long years ago.

Seeing Pikesville reminded me of an old Baltimore joke:

Q. What's the shortest route from Israel to Africa?

A. Park Heights Avenue!

Cheers!

Speaking of Glendening...

I once saw a bumper sticker in Maryland when he was running for his second term:

"Re-elect Governor Sauerbrey"

Cheers!

Gov. Martin O'Malley said this week that he wants to find ways to make the state's tax structure more progressive, and key legislators, including Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, have expressed support for at least a temporary tax increase on top earners, such as one that helped Maryland weather its last major fiscal crisis, in the early 1990s.

"I believe in progressive taxation," O'Malley, a Democrat, said last week.

"I see dumb people. They're everywhere."

IIRC, Frederick County is becoming infested with liberals as well, and in FC, most of your property tax will be for FC.
