Progressive = Soviet Front
The fact that the Soviet Union is gone does not change the definition. The fact that Hillary! Rodham (Clinton) thinks calling herself a Progressive makes her sound like less of a screwball speaks volumes about her political tin ear.

“Progressive” as a euphemism for Socialist/Communist goes all the way back to the 1920’s, and 30’s, through the 1950’s Atomic Spy trials, convictions, and executions of self proclaimed “Progressives”, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg.
“Progressive” has always been a code word for Socialist/Communist. That is how they identified themselves and one another.
A very unfortunate choice of words for Miz Hillary, unless, of course, she meant it as a code phrase to give a “wink wink “ to the Far Left.
