I watched a similar incident a few weeks ago in Wal-Mart except the druggy-looking couple with 2 young kids apparently got away scott free. They wheel up to a self-serve check out with a buggy loaded down with everything. The Wal-Mart supervisor was at her post (supposedly watching over the self-serve counters) within 10 feet of them. She even asked them if they needed help 2 times.

Anyway, they would have 2 or 3 of a single item, mostly things that didn't weigh much in their hand, scan one or two of them and then put all of them in the bag. Next they would scan a heavy item and put it in the bag. This kept the weight sensors from sensing the light-weight items that didn't get scanned. I saw them do it for I don't know how many items.

I kept waiting for a Wal-Mart security person to meet them after they finished their tally, but I saw them walk right out the door. They did it right under the employee's nose. Amazing. Surely Wal-Mart is aware of this practice and to watch for it. Surely.

I have something similar living in my rental house in Alabama ... she only pays her 'reduced' rent (when her fiancee moved out I reducedx the rent by $200 per month) when I threaten to evict her and then she remains at least a month behind. Liberalism has taught too many that stealing is not wrong, it's fairness.
