The soporific effects of Big Macs are well known. The rioter would have been calmed by the strong desire to sit on their butts and watch tv after eating them.

Of the 501 men in the detention centre at the time 177 were foreign prisoners awaiting deportation -
a volatile group who had 'nothing to lose'. There are no countries in the world, other than western, that would put up with this crap. Ever.
Where I live, they would beat the s*** out of you.
And rightly so!
