Actually not. Dr. Paul is from near Pittsburgh. One of the original definitions of yankee (as exhibited in the Legend of Sleepy Hollow) were those undesirable sorts from the New England states who felt they knew better than the rest of the nation.
Incidentally, Ron Paul went to Gettysburg college, so he got to look at the window every day and see the famous site where the evil yankees turned back the south during the war.
Of course, I've never lived in New England a day in my life, so I guess neither Ron Paul or myself are "yankees". I'll have to remember that the next time I'm one of the holier-than-thou confederate threads bashing Illinoisans.
Thanks for sending me the great news about Tommy Thompson. He got twice as many votes as Fred Thompson. Tommy got as many votes as Giuliani, Tancredo, and McCain, combined.
If anyone thinks a Democrat is going to be tougher on the illegal issue than Republicans, they're dumber than a road bump. Any Democrat who voted against the amnesty plan only did so because they could read the tea leaves.
It was Republicans who defeated it and almost all the Republican candidates are tough on the issue. There are only a couple of squishy ones. We must hang together or we could get one of those evil, goofy Democrats.
I sent an email to iowa-at-tommy2008-dot-com a couple weeks ago asking them when they’d be in C.R. again.
Still wondering if I’ll ever receive a reply. (No, it’s not in my spam bucket.)
Shoot me a freepmail and I’ll get Tommy’s schedule for you. I imagine he’ll be back there by the Ames straw poll, since Tommy is banking on winning Iowa and has visited over 99 counties there, many of them three times or more. I’m signed up for his email and I have his July schedule. He also sends out his weekly events on his myspace page.
His Iowa schedule for this week is at http://www.tommy2008.com/Tommy_Across_Iowa.aspx
I assume you mean Cedar Rapids, please let me know.
Cedar Rapids.
Shoot me a freepmail
Done.
Im signed up for his email
I'm not ready for that.
He also sends out his weekly events on his myspace page.
That's interesting but, I don't do MySpace. He ought to put it on his Web site. (You mean upcoming events, right?)
His Iowa schedule for this week is at http://www.tommy2008.com/Tommy_Across_Iowa.aspx
Really? I sure don't see it. Just in case my installation of Firefox 2.0 is hiding it, I tried IE 6. Still can't find it.
On that page, I can see where he's been (through July 22) but, nothing about where he's going. That's precisely why I sent that email on July 11.
