(Tommy) Thompson Ready to Answer Question from Snowman or Any Man in YouTube Debate
Campaigns & Elections ^ | July 27, 2007

Posted on 07/29/2007 4:18:01 PM PDT by Clintonfatigued

Tommy Thompson's campaign announced today it is willing to participate in the CNN/YouTube debate.

“We'll answer questions from any American who wants to ask one and that includes one dressed up like a snowman. Mayor Giuliani and Senator McCain seem more interested in finding reasons to pass up opportunities to address Americans than finding opportunities to engage in debate,” said Steve Grubbs, Senior National Advisor for the Thompson Presidential campaign.

McCain and Giuliani have expressed reservations about participating in a YouTube debate due to the questions and questioners allowed to participate.

“Governor Thompson will visit his 99th county in Iowa this week. He is taking his message directly to voters and answering questions to all who want to ask. Whether its YouTube or Blue Grass, Iowa, Tommy Thompson is ready to take on all questions,” said Grubbs.

YouTube debates are dog and pony shows. Nothing else. Those that go on them are losers.

I hope that the Republican questioners from YouTube conduct themselves with more intelligence and dignity than the Democrat ones.

99th county? Wow, he will be an awesome president of Iowa. Though...aren’t there more states?

How appropriate, since he has a snowman’s chance in the desert to win the nomination.

If Thompson doesn’t have enough respect for the Presidency not to answer questions from a talking snowman, he doesn’t deserve to be in the race.

Then again... he’s NOT in the race, come to think of it.

No one except Paul, Thompson and (some other loser) are in the GOP boob tube debate.

Oh yeah, today is my day for unwarranted political political invective.

The YouTube debates have now become a ghetto of the “going nowhere” candidate.

Why Does Tommy Thompson, who was an outstanding governor, continue diminishing himself with this absurd charade?

He has nothing distinctive to offer. He ISN’T going to be the nominee. Seriously, what is motivating guys like Thompson to stick around? He doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who’s just on an ego trip like Ron Paul. Nor does he doesn’t have a burning issue he cares about like Tom Tancredo. What the hell is his deal? Same with Sam Brownback, Jim Gilmore, and Mike Huckabee.

On the other hand, I suppose he doesn’t have much else to do....

Both the Romney, and Guiliani campaigns said that CNN scheduled the date without consulting any candidate, and since it is at the very end of the financial quarter all campaigns have multiple pre-planned fundraisers on this date. Both said they would consider joining if the date was changed (although I wish they would tell CNN to stick it).

TOMMY Thompson for POTUS ping!

Welcome to the Official Tommy Thompson ping list! -- The ONLY candidate for President elected statewide in a swing state as a proven conservative!

Please Freepmail me if you want ON or OFF this list. Remember, despite what some freepers may think, Tommy Thompson is the ONLY Thompson out there actually RUNNING for President.

Tommy Thompson: The Reliable Conservative

Tommy Thompson wins Iowa's 2nd Largest County!

Keep the articles coming! Can we get Frudy T. McRomney on record supporting ALL of the following?

A) Opposing ALL amnesty legislation and firm that ALL illegals MUST be sent back to their own country.

B) Proven, CONSISTANT, RELIABLE pro-life views throughout his ENTIRE career

C) On record that one of his first acts in the White House would be a full PARDON for Border Agents Ramos and Competeon

D) PROVEN record on strict constructionist judges that do NOT legislate from the bench

E) Proudly endorsed FAIRTAX with a PLEDGE to sign it into the law the MOMENT it reaches his desk -- and PROVEN record standing up for tax cuts and slashing pork barrel spending

F) Proven RESULTS and LEADERSHIP in office, rather than padding resume with how good he sounds on TV and all the nice stuff he's done in the private sector

G) NO ties to ever endorsing the anti-soviegnity agenda of the RINO sellout crowd, especially McCain-Feingold, the Council on Foreign Relations, La Raza, NAFTA, etc.

So far I've only found ONE presidential candidate who has held statewide office and can claim all of the above. His name is TOMMY Thompson.

Someone please explain to me why the heck Jimmy Carter continues to punish himself by sticking around the Presidential campaign. C'mon Jimmy, these are the big leagues, and nobody ever heard of you outside of Georgia. You're polling 2% nationally. IT'S OVER. Carter will be lucky to come to 8th place. The only people who have a prayer of winning the Democrat nomination are Lloyd Bentsen, Scoop Jackson, Mo Udall, and Birch Bayh. They, unlike Jimmy, are nationally known figures who have already raised millions of dollars. Even the unelectable George Wallace is polling higher than Jimmy, and he has Jimmy's "base", old fashioned blue-collar southern Democrats, locked up. Jimmy Carter... what is this... some kind of joke?
