What are your opinions of this place?
Thanks.
Not an Islamist hangout, at least.
That had occurred to me...
I have been told to stay away from Tacoma, something about “The Tacoma Aroma” If you have a little time to travel I enjoyed Oak Harbor for a picnic and the beach.
How long are you staying for? If you have enough time (and the wheels) get out of Seattle and head for either Mt. St. Helens, or Mt. Rainier.
Tacoma doesn’t stink anymore. Apparently they shut down a copper smelter that was causing a large part of the odor. It’s actually becoming kind of classy downtown.
For the best brunch in Seattle, go to the Rosebud. Yes, it's on Capitol Hill, but in my experience the gay waiters tend to not kiss each other while bringing your food.
Do you love good beer? The Pacific Northwest is probably the best region in the world for good beer. FreepMail me and I will tell you exactly where to go to get the best beer available.
Go to The Brooklyn downtown for a great happy hour, especially if you like fresh oysters.
If you have more than a few days, spend one of them on the ferry through the San Juan Islands. Get back in time to see the sunset from Deception Pass Bridge.

Oh...and if you’re coming this week, I believe the Blue Angels will be in town for the Seafair Hydroplane Races this coming weekend.
At least, I THINK it’s this coming weekend...
The best place to avoid in Seattle is Seattle. Try to stay out of Seattle too.
I live in Oak Harbor. That said, a trip through the San Juans and a sunset at Deception Pass would be a better choice.
The truth is Seattle is just plain liberal and uber liberal. It is not where to avoid (why should you deny yourself watching the circus/carnival called Capitol Hill?) It is the what that will drive them crazy (you know how the liberal are so very toleRANT!). . . the "I voted for Bush twice" shirt may just not allow you to walk off the aircraft without harassment or the "Conservative to the Core" shirt might cause problems too.
But hey, enjoy yourself and make sure to rave continually about the awesome benefits of Capitalism! LOL. Enjoy. Seattle was my home for 13 plus years and it can be a magical place. Great time of year to visit.
Belltown is fairly dangerous at night. Not as bad as Pioneer Square but you still need to be careful. Keep your head up and your eyes open and check out the people who are around you. That said, it's a good place to stay because it is convenient to lots of stuff.
Go to lunch at Chinook’s at Fisherman’s Terminal near the Ballard Bridge. Best seafood value in town is their blueplate special.
Ballard is still the most conservative area of the city.
I Love Iver’s on the waterfront. My son once referred to the statue out front as “Iver feeding the gargoyles”. LOL! Is the Crocadile Cafe’ still in Belltown? I was saddened when the Doghouse was closed.
“Tacoma doesnt stink anymore. Apparently they shut down a copper smelter......”
I was always told it was from a pulp mill.
go to whidbey island and see deception pass state park..
Highly recommend one of the boat tours as well, especially one that goes through the locks and/or cruises the boathouse mooring area. I found those most interesting.
Wow! Lots of responses! Thank you so much. I am heading out now, so wish me luck!
VRBO means vacation rental by owner. It is a site where you find places to rent instead of a hotel. I rented one last year and saved a bundle.
OK, time to head to the airport.
