Pure vanity here! I am going to Seattle tomorrow. Have been there and love it, but wonder if there are any places my fellow conservatives recommend to visit. As well, as some to avoid, if needed. lol Thank you!
Boeing.
Be sure you eat at Iver’s.
Oops. I meant Ivar’s. ( It has been almost 30 years since I was there)
Idaho.
Seattle Aquarium has a new 120,000 gal tank. I’ll be heading up there with the kids next month to check that out. I hear it’s pretty cool. The Salmon should be coming through the fish ladders at Ballard Lochs here pretty soon too.
My favorite place to visit when I lived in Seattle is the Pike Market.

Pike Place Market, and get some berries and dungeness to take home.
The Snoqualmie Inn (about 40 minutes west of the city), to have lunch over Snoqualmie falls.
The Palisade Restaurant. Order the Sockeye with some Pinot Noir.
The Icon Grill, between Belltown and downtown.
Take the duck tour from the Space Needle. Really gets interesting when you drop into Lake Union and tour the houseboats.
If you have time, try and make it to the San Juan Islands, and rent a motorbike to ride through some beautiful countryside.
Avoid:
Pioneer Square at night. Frat boy bars and junkie homeless guys. No thanks.
Any restaurants on Capitol Hill. Overpriced and poor quality.
Where are you staying. You can email me with any detailed questions. I lived in downtown Seattle for two years, and know the city and the environs pretty well.
Pike Place Market is very Seattle. You could take a ride on a ferry - there are various ones to different islands. You probably won’t like Capitol Hill, which is just east of downtown I-5. How long are you there?
WOW, great suggestions!
Oh yes, we love Ivar’s! I head to Pike Market a lot while there. So many things to see there. Do plan on going on a road trip to Deceptions Pass, then the casino in Tulalip. Going to see the Mariners play my Red Sox. Yhose are my only plans, so love any suggestions. The aquarium would be cool. I went a couple of years ago. Have seen the EMP and the Space Needle. Did the Underground tour and loved it! Have not tried the International area or many others. I knew I could count on you folks!
That said, Safeco Field to see a Mariner game. Pikes Place market is neat too. The Space Needle on a clear day(You’ll love Mt. Rainier).
PS bring along A LOT of liberal spray.
Be sure to wear your “Socialists Suck” t-shirt there. You’ll make a lot of new friends.

I am going to be there for a week. I love going there so am doing it right this time. I am staying in a VRBO in Belltown. Seems pretty close to most places. Cabs are plenty! Will have a rental car starting Friday. Planning a ferry ride when we go to Deception Pass.
Went on a winery tour last year and am thinking of taking another. It was so much fun, I learned a lot and saw some beautiful wineries.
Go to west Seattle and take a drive around Alkai
I would say avoid the Central District at night if you don’t want to get shot.
Avoid Capitol Hill if you don’t want to see men kissing - if you know what I mean.
Oh, if you are staying in Belltown, it can get VERY noisy on Friday and Saturday nights on First and Second Ave, getting quieter the closer you get to the monorail tracks.
Thank you! I know there are a lot of places I would be uncomfortable in due to the politics, ugh! I am sure Belltown is one of them!
Pikes Market is a popular for the unemployed liberals to sing about how awful things are. lol But, there is enough fresh food and little stores to even that out!
I recommend Dixie’s BBQ over in the Bellevue area.
Be sure to ask to “meet the man” and then get an “I met the man at Dixie’s BBQ” bumper sticker.
