UK Hotels Must Switch to Single Rooms Only or Allow Homosexual Sex on Premises
By Hilary White
LONDON, July 30, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In conflicts over same-sex couples staying in hotels run by religious believers, it is up to the owners to accommodate or close, the government says.
In April, the Labour government passed the Sexual Orientation Regulations of the Equality Act 2006, drafted under the supervision of homosexual lobbyists, that make it illegal for Christian and other religious objectors to homosexual behaviour to refuse business to gay clientele.
In the case of family owned bed and breakfast establishments, this requirement means that proprietors must allow homosexual partners to stay in the same room or be forced to close.
Today the government ruled that in cases where religious or other belief makes this situation impossible, the only choice is to entirely disallow any guests to sleep together, whether they are married couples or homosexual partners.
In a letter, Meg Munn, a junior minister in the Department for Communities and Local Government who held the equality remit under Tony Blair, said the rules mean that no business owner may refuse on any grounds whatever. She said the only choice is to change the business itself. The Telegraph quotes her saying that photographers with objections must switch to portrait photography, while a chauffer who did not want to drive for homosexuals must change jobs.
In related news, in a move praised by gay activists and socialists, the Brown government has created a new cabinet post, Secretary of State for Equalities, assigned to Harriet Harman, Leader of the Commons and Deputy Labour Leader. Harman is also Chair of the Labour Party and Minister for Women.
The Commons Leader website describes the purpose of the new post as being "to strengthen further the Government's ability to deliver across the entire equalities agenda. Harriet Harman will be responsible for the new Equalities Office at Cabinet level as Secretary of State."
In a speech during the London Pride in June, Harman told the crowd that the fight for "gay rights" is not over. "We all know that there is further to go, and that this is a day of determination too."
"We are going to have a new Commission for Equality and Human Rights that will mainstream the battle against homophobia. We are going to have new work in schools to tackle homophobia, more work within the police and the criminal justice system to prevent and deter homophobic crime. We have come long way but further got to go."

So Christian business are stomped out so they can be replaced with cookie cutter, soul-less corporate clones, all in the name of “Diversity”.
Diana Moon Glampers must not have been available...
Either homosexuality will be in the closet, or Christianity will be in the closet. You can’t have both. Once a society starts down the “gay rights” path, it’s inevitable that religious liberty, property rights, freedom of association, freedom of speech, and other traditional rights will be suppressed to advance the revolutionary and faddish new “rights” of homosexuals.
OMG, they had to have known!
The difference is that the US citizenry has a right to be armed, unlike those in Britain. When things have gone too far -- not just with homosexual agenda but with other matters also -- masses of this populace will rise up and put a stop to it.
I'm not advocating the violence -- merely forecasting that it is inevitable.
I no longer care what the xxxx happens to Britain. They will be overrun by head-choppers as they deliberately eliminate their Christian-based value system.
And it serves them right.
I’ve stayed in London bed and breakfasts. It’s the home of the person running it. Really rotten of the government to do this to Christians. It’s persecution. Of course, we have freedom of assocation guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution, so that could never happen here. </sarc>
Heh. They’ve desensitized us to our loss of freedoms haven’t they?
Just cause two men share an hotel room does mean....
I and another guy from my company missed a Delta connection in Atlanta’s fabulous Hart International Airport and had to spend the night in the capital of Georgia. To save our company money, we went over to the service counter (with hundreds of other weary souls) to get a voucher for accomodations. The nice lady asked us if we would be sharing a room, to which I replied, “Just because we’re from Massachusetts doesn’t mean we’re gonna be picking out china patterns.” She, very sweetly, replied that her father shared a hotel room with his buddies on fishing trips and he wasn’t from Massachusetts. (I took her word for that.) I told her if it was my money, I’d consider it, but since it was Delta’s money, uhhmmmm, “No Soap”.
Not to worry, Dems don’t drive KIAs ~
Nothing like treating perversion as normal.
When that happens, Hell is just around the corner.
This is a shame.
Silly hotel owners - it’s not like the customers had alcohol or pork products.
Please tell me this is from the Onion, or is sarcasm, or otherwise made up.
If not, it’s utterly appalling.
It shouldn't have to be that way.
Homosexuals shouldn't have to "be in the closet", although I'd prefer they keep their sex lives to themselves like normal people do.
Neither should anybody have to give up "religious liberty, property rights, freedom of association, freedom of speech, and other traditional rights" - period.
This is just another case of socialism (statism) gone amok. The goobermint has no right to do this.
It ain't libertarian or conservative, and it sure as hell ain't American.
Great catch!
Don't worry. This won't stand up under British Sharia Law.
OMG, they had to have known!
Catch Of The Day!
