On Sarasota's North Tamiami Trail, two mannequins are causing controversy.
Some people say they're offensive.
The man who put up the display says he wanted to offend his neighbors and the city of Sarasota.
People have recently sent e-mails to Sarasota city commissioners asking for help to please have this man take these mannequins down.
But city commissioners say, believe it or not, he's not violating any city code.
The owner of this now empty building... commonly referred to as the mirrored house... has put these female mannequins on display in the window.
Arnold Herbst, a neighbor to the windows, says "one day, he'll put the tops on the mannequins, the next day he'll just take them down."
Herbst lives in the neighborhood and says the women are often placed in different sexual positions.

Must have seen the Sienfeld episode about the mannequin who looked like Elaine.

Reminds me of some neighborhood pranksters who changed the lady-down-the-street’s Christmas reindeer display so the deer were all in various sexual positions. She was not amused.

Was her name Mrs. Claus?.........
Did you notice Hillary at the beginning segment with Itchy & Scratchy?......
On another note, it still amazes me that Tamiami Trail begins as SW 8th Street (Calle Ocho) in Miami, and ends in Michigan near the Canadian border.
I saw it last Friday; I laughed my butt off from beginning to end.
“Spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does. Can he swing from a web? No he can’t, ‘cause he’s a pig”
Classic Homer
“I’m tellin’!”
Why are they called mannequins if they are female? They should be called femalequins.
That’s good to hear, I saw some of the trailers and it didn’t look that good. How is it from a kids point of view? Can I take my 7yr. old to it?
I didn’t know “Peeping Toms” could be offended.

Hehehhehe...good morning sunshines! This should make your day...bawhahaha!
Orrrr...how ‘bout “Womannequins”?
A problem easily solved with a can of spray paint.
Despite everything else, Marge still loves Homer, and that's a positive message....
That said, you see Bart's "weiner" at one point, and there was one "goddamned" at the end, which was for shock value (and it worked for that moment for many in the theater). I remember that there was probably other language that you wouldn't hear on the show scattered through, but I really don't remember anything specific, other than the aforementioned "G-d".
My 11-yo son had a wonderful time and the thing he's talking about most this morning is the Alvin and the Chipmunks trailer. (We saw a lot of trailers and commercials because we got there early. You know, I knew that they were remaking "The Bionic Woman", but I didn't know that she was going to have a British accent.)
Thanks. My wife has a problem with some of the stuff they do on the show. But my retort is usually; At the end, the still love each other.
I just ate-stop that!
You're just askin' for a Helen pic...
If they are on a motorbike, are they harlequins?

He's putting them in store windows now, Peg!
IMHO, Americans in general have a bizarre hangup when it comes to nakedness. Guns, violence, blood, destruction, drugs, and all manner of perversion are perfectly OK for kids to watch on TV, but a naked body is shunned and protested. Now we can't even allow them to see a naked mannequin? Obviously some people don't have enough to worry about.
Well, there are many people who are offended, whether you like it or not, and it is a disgusting, petty, childish thing for a grown man to do -- offend an entire neighborhood just because he can't get the town council to issue him a permit to open a beauty parlor(?)across the street from an elementary school. It takes a special kind of twisted pervert to do that.
By the way, before you start with a bunch of false assumption about me -- naked mannequins per se do not offend me; but putting them in obviously "sexual" positions for kids to see does.
The man is a lowlife pig.
