I often observe this effect, usually through raindrops on my windshield while sitting at a traffic light.
Note the article mischaracterises the images as “reflections”. They are refracted images. Note also that the “fuchsia flowers” are multiple images of a single flower, as are the “reflected delphiniums”.

No, pretty straightforward macro photography. For shots like that you don't even need a macro lens, just a simple 50mm prime and some extention tubes.
Heck of a lot easier than photoshop.

I bet a lot of people will be peering into their garden in the morning for visions in the dewdrops.
It took me three tries to "transfer" the focus in macro mode using the focus lock. ( Nikon COOLPIX )
