Seems to me that the MSM and the democrats (excuse the redundancy) are spending a heck of a lot of time pounding on Fred Thompson. Why would that be, do you think?

So much crap in so few words. Cohen should cut his screed into pieces and sell it to organic farmers.

Richard Cohen's common sense is far from it. He states that " The more guns you have, the greater the chance they will be used.".

The truth is the more guns there are in a situation, the higher the risk to the first shooter to use one, ergo, they will not be used at all.

The same sort of logic applied to atom bombs. When only the United States had atom bombs, they used all of them. When there were several players in the game, all with lots of bombs, no one used any of them.

Richard knows that I know that he knows better than to push the old "the fewer the better" when it comes to guns. It's no more true for firearms than for women (from the male perspective) ~ in fact, he probably could have beaten the sexual harrassment rap that advertising gal laid on him if there's been 10 times her number ~ they'd been competing for his attention in fact.

Believe it or not, I agree with Thompson that other planets are also warming up. Earthlings are not the cause of that. Hey MSM, it’s the sun’s fault, stupid!

Hey Mr. Cohen, mind if I call you "Dick"? Gunsmoke and Marshall Dillon were fiction, ya know, like the world you live in. The rest of us live in the real world, the world where a large part of our Armed Forces are made up of college aged males.Ya know, just those ones that you don't think are responsible enough to have guns.

Oh and Dick, anyone with a bit of reason and logic can see past the "global warming" hype. Why can't you?

Nothing like missing the point. Thompson’s point about the other planets warming up is it shows that the sun is doing the global warming by itself, without any effect from man. Therefore treaties in which certain countries slow down their economic growth serve no purpose toward preventing GW.

It’s a shame that the cadaverish Cohen is too old to play Pee Wee Herman in a sequel. He’s a True DemocRAT and a threat to us all.

In the opening of "Gunsmoke", Matt Dillon gunned down a bad guy. Every Week!

They actually did remove that opening later in the series.

"Marshal Dillon had the same policy for cowboys when they rode into Dodge: They had to surrender their guns."

And in doing so, became the first liberal idiot who violated their constitutional rights, and dangerously close to being the first liberal declaring marshal law in an American state.

Liberals always argue in simplistic, over generalized one dimensional terms. They never consider complexities or long term outcomes. They are driven by emotion (dare I say, madness) and not the search for truth. Both the gun arguments and climate change are classics. As far as climate change goes, man may be making a small contribution but has no significance if the sun and geological manifestations (eg volcanic activity) represent the “rate limiting steps” using chemistry jargon. Quite frankly, the market will solve the climate change problem long before a committee of hysterical liberals can work out the seating arrangements.

“Mars and Jupiter, non-signatories to the Kyoto treaty” — are also warming up. That may be the case, but it does not mean that little ol’ Earth is not also warming up

Thompson's point goes right over the head of this simpleton.

"Thompson managed to mock scientists by saying that other planetary bodies — “Mars and Jupiter, non-signatories to the Kyoto treaty” — are also warming up. That may be the case, but it does not mean that little ol’ Earth is not also warming up — and since we live here it is best that something be done.

I guess Cohen never took a breath and paused long enough to realize that there aren't any humans on those planets to make nasty co2, so it isn't why those planets, or earth, are warming up, and that there is nothing humans can do to stop nature from doing what it has always been doing for thousands (or millions if you are from that school) of years on those and this planet.

They had to surrender their guns. Only out of towners, and then only if they wanted to visit saloons or other establishments. Townsfolk were fully armed, and often used those arms to support the Marshall or his duputies. The out of town cowpokes got their guns back on the way out of town. In the real world, as well as the reel world.

Forgot that part, didn't you, ya slimy gun grabber? (The author, not the poster).

Marshall Dillon NEVER made anyone surrender their guns when they road into town. I have seen every episode ever made and not once did he ever make cowboys give up their weapons. I would like Cohen to cite one episode that this happened and shame on you for falling for his lies. Besides, James Arness would never have played a character who was a liberal. Jim was and still is a staunch conservative (after all, one of his closest friends was John Wayne).
