A new al Qaeda propaganda ad, headlined "Wait for the Big Surprise" and featuring a digitally altered photograph of President George Bush and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf standing in front of a burning White House, was posted on the Internet today.
The brief clip from al Qaeda's "as Sahab" propaganda arm juxtaposes the doctored photo of Bush and Musharraf along with previously seen images of al Qaeda's top leadership -- Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahri and Adam Gadahn -- as well as a photo of an SUV in a motorcade.
There is no additional information provided in the ad, and it closes with the words, "Soon -- God willing," written across the screen and repeated several times.

A few years ago, their goal was to draw the U.S. into a war in the Middle East, with the idea being that the ME would unite against the US, and the ME, through this unity, could once again become one nation (or caliph) as it was in the 7th century. With the AQ leader as the top dog, of course. But they only half succeeded. They drew the US into war, but the rest of it didn't work out.
So what in tarnation is their goal now? Just plain old nihilism?

There are any of a number of things that they could do to set this country off be it blowing up civilians in crowded places, shooting up some malls or any of the other things they do. They could simply go do it and that would be that. No need for intimidation tapes.

I do not watch the news or television.
I do not read the newspaper.
I do not listen to news radio.
I get all my news and information from the Internet. Tonight, I went in and sat down with my wife in front of the television, and ABC News was on...this was the order of things I saw in less than five minutes (from memory):
1. Discussion of the level of American casualties
2.) The overdeployment of the military
3.) The cost of the war being one trillion dollars if we are there until 2017.
4.) An image of a bombed area with screaming and running people
5.) A severely injured man on the ground
6.) An overflowing Iraqi Emergency Room with injured children and harried looking doctors
7.) A burning truck
8.) A burning car
9.) A burning tanker truck with great orange flames and black smoke.
I tell you folks...they are completely in overdrive wishing for bad news from every angle from Iraq. As Rush says, they are all heavily invested in defeat.
It was unbeliveable to see for someone like me who avoids that medium like the plague.
And should the Al Queasies mangage to pull off theirs, President Cheney would quite likely spring ours. Hope the Pakistanis and Indians don't mind the fallout too much.
If this really is so, it makes you wonder how depleted the AQ leadership really is.
ABC “news” doesn’t pass modern muster in any reasonable sense of truth, accuracy, or maturity.
This would be great. Someone of us should dress up like Arab terrorists and make fun of them. Think of a funny name, like the Al Qrackers Brigade for Carpet Riding Holy Smokes Fighters U.S.
Threaten to drop pork products on their holy cities or something. Or perhaps that our scientists have developed an engineered virus or devise that slowly turns Muslims into Christians by remote thought control.
On the level that he is the head of their western media relations and he speaks both fluent Arabic and English he is a leader in communications for them. Not as a foot soldier or cell leader.
