The idea of a professional moderator is something we should oppose with all of our might. The Free Republic is doing a phenomenal job facilitating the best forum of free speech on the planet. Why would we change something that works?

The idea of a professional moderator is something I treat with suspicion. Who would this person be? Could such a person be a mole with the intent of destroying the Free Republic in such a way that no longer would the enemies of freedom have the sword of the pen to worry about. Such a moderator may be one who has no regard for our exercise in freedom and be an instrument of those who want to censure thinking that shines the light of truth on their deception.

BTW, on his radio show today he was babbling about how he "immediately" (yeah, sure) deletes all evil comments posted by kooks on his website.

Yet this is posted on his site: BillOReilly.com will not be held liable for any user activity on the message boards. We do not actively monitor user-submitted content.

Kill Bill

There is a phrase used in the television industry that refers to ending a television show. It's called "killing" a show. After the debacle that I've just witnessed with Mr. Bill O'Reilly and his attack on Free Republic, which in my opinion was unwarranted, I earnestly believe that the best thing that could happen would be that Roger Ailes would choose to "kill Bill".
Now while I hope that neither Mr. Bill nor his "reseachers" take what I've written out of context there appears to be a good probability that just such a thing may very well happen. In fact, I believe there is a higher probability of that happening than in FOX choosing to "kill Bill".

The majority of freepers are smarter than Bill.

I think he realizes this and feels threatened. Perhaps there is a large amount of “hate” in Mr. O’Reilly himself.

Fox & Friends has been utterly unwatchable for years, IMO.

Way too much silliness, too much entertainment.

I’ll still watch.

I stopped watching him when he refused to be open-minded about the Swift Boat Vets campaign.

Who is the MORON who wrote O'Reilly the pithy comment O'Reilly read suggesting the known fabricated posts were "plants".

This offered O'Reilly plausible deniability, which he gladly took and was used to launch his FR must improve its site monitoring capability.

We'll at least you got your commment read on TV Dip S___.

I remember right before 911, his biggest gripe was about flight delays on airlines, and how the gubment needed to do something about it.

I am DONE with O’Reilly.

I was done with O'Blowhard a couple of years ago. He gives a damn about one thing - Bill O'Reilly. He has no core values that I can see, and has no problem engaging in groundless slime attacks and lies against critics. Which makes him no better than a Clintonista.

Bill needs to be reminded (apparently) that if not for Free Republic (and the Pajamadeen freepers), we would now have Hanoi John Kerry as President, and Dan Rather would still be blathering away on prime time tv.

He really must have gone liberal, because they all seem to have very short and selective memories.
