“Sorry, he is simply right.”

He is. This Administration has allowed the left to dictate the public opinion of the efforts thus far. While we are winning on the ground, we are losing in perception.

We shall see Jed. I am not saying to underestimate Hillary Clinton but overrating her beyond reality and creating all this knee jerk reaction and surrender mentality that she is going to win no matter what is very destructive for our side.

Newt was a really sharp guy, what happened?

“and surrender mentality that she is going to win no matter what is very destructive for our side.”

I agree with that 100%

Newt has ADD and can’t keep on one topic long enough to have to explain his stand. IF becoming energy independent had been easy, it would have been done back in the 70’s.

Don’t know about you, but I was very happy the Newt and the Reps shut down the government. Some leftards think it was a bad thing. No way. America still went on minus the beltway. It was a great moment in our history. I hope it happens again soon.

Eliminating state sponsorship of terrorism will reduce their funds much faster than the pie in the sky approach of trying to limit the petrodollars flowing into the Middle East. Ain’t gonna happen anytime soon. Pols and pundits have been bloviating about this for 35+ years and nothing’s happened yet.

Agree. He wasn’t bright enough to stop his political demise.

The problem was that the MSM totally misrepresented what had happened. Clinton was the one who really shut down the government with his veto of the budget bill, but the media spun it so that everyone blamed those “evil” Republicans. Unfortunately, the whole episode turned out to be a positive for WJC and a negative for the Pubbies.

The U. S. set up a lightening rod in Iraq and the jihadists are swarming around it like flies on a floodlight. Bang, we kill them daily.

What’s phony about that?

Maybe Newt is trying to get a market share of Ron Paul’s poll numbers, or a running mate position. They’re sounding a lot alike. This is all quite humorous, really.

Shove it up your arse, Newt. Just try not to soil your manicured dishpan hands.

“We were in charge for six years,” he said, referring to the period between 2001 and early 2007, when the GOP controlled the White House and both houses of Congress. “I don’t think you can look and say that was a great success.”

That makes sense. Glad to know that Gingrich hasn’t adopted Edwards’ “the War on Terror is a bumper sticker” mantra.

“And what he meant by that is that we are pulling our punches.”

I agree with your assessment of what he meant, and believe that he is correct.

He is absolutely right. The war in Iraq is leading to a brutal civil war and complete and total repression and persecution of the few remaining Christians in Iraq.
He is right.
Cutting dependence on mid east oil is essential.
Controlling our borders is absolutely essential.

I do agree that we’re not fighting the war on terror right. We should redeploy our Iraq troops to Pakistan. Find Osama and the rest of AlQueda there, and dismantle their nuke program.
