Reports are that the car (early reports was that it was a van) was from Florida and passing through SC and was pulled over by chance. The explosive devices were in the trunk... apparently the FBI is now involved....

A group of Muslims wanting to blow something up? Sure you jest? There you go again, jumping to conclusions. We don't know yet why these middle eastern looking men were carting explosives, but we have ruled out terrorism.

BREAKING NEWS: Bomb Scare In Goose Creek
UPDATED; Live 5 News
Police in Goose Creek are investigating a bomb scare.
Highway 176 near Crowfield Boulevard and Old Mt. Holly Road has been shut down.
Sources tell Live 5 News that police stopped a four-door sedan during a routine traffic stop and found what they believe was a bomb inside the vehicle.
Witnesses on the scene told Live 5 News that they believed the car had an out-of-state license plate, but they could not be sure which state the tags were issued from.
Sources also say that there were two people in the car and that they were of Middle Eastern decent.
The FBI is working with local authorities in the investigation. There is no word at this point of when they will reopen the highway.

Could be huge, could be nothing. Could be huge and the press will tell us it is nothing, move along. But let's remember that there is always wrong information contained within the first reports.

I hope these guys get water boarded, dog attacked and given cold weather treatment to make them talk. If they don’t talk drop them off of a C-130 without a parachute, back in Muzzieland, of course, at 19,000 feet. Repatriate them.

If those perps had been driving through California, they would have never been stopped.
I was in Charleston visiting family 3 weeks ago and everywhere I went there was a noticeable police presence—especially after 9 pm on most roads. Unlike California, the police in South Carolina will pull over a car for any reason they want. I like that. Maybe that’s what California needs (and soon)

Im just shocked they admitted they were middle-eastern.I hear you, but look closely and you'll see that "they" haven't admitted anything. The information comes from unnamed sources.
From the article at wolficatZ post:

I am going to follow it closely and wait and see. Hell, maybe I'll even take a shower. ;)

Police: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County
Aug 4, 2007 08:02 PM MDT
GOOSE CREEK (WCBD) - The FBI and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department are investigating what they think are explosives found in a car in Goose Creek.
Police say part of Highway 176 in Berkeley County is closed, and traffic is limited to local residents around Mount Holly Road.
WIS News 10’s sister station in Charleston, WCBD, reports authorities pulled over a suspicious car at around 6:00pm Saturday. Officers asked to search the vehicles, and discovered what investigators say are “possible explosives” located in the trunk.
Once federal agents were brought in and analyzed the situation, an FBI-controlled robot pulled a bag filled with the suspicious items from the vehicle.
The two men inside the vehicle, which is reported to have Florida tags, have been detained at the scene.
WIS News 10 talked to an FBI spokesperson who told us she could neither confirm or deny a possible link between the vehicle and a terrorist plot.
Count on wistv.com to bring you the latest in this developing story.

That story died a thousand deaths, didn’t it?
With all the other hinky circumstances with that “suicide”, you will never convince me that he just meant to kill himself (outside a packed football stadium), and that he “meant no harm to others.”
I guess I will have to turn my TV on and see what everyone is talking about now.

Goose Creek is the location of a large naval base. The base is open many areas. There are some areas on the base where the number of military casualties could be fairly sizable on a Saturday night. For that matter, a lot of military dependents could be included. These guys need 50 feet of rope between them after six months with an Egyptian interrogator.
