"Neither the writer nor the reader of these words is qualified to appreciate the holiness of God. Quite literally a new channel must be cut through the desert of our minds to allow the sweet waters of truth that will heal our great sickness to flow in. We cannot grasp the true meaning of the divine holiness by thinking of someone or something very pure and then raising the concept to the highest degree we are capable of. God's holiness is not simply the best we know infinitely bettered. We know nothing like the divine holiness. It stands apart, unique, unapproachable, incomprehensible and unattainable… Holy is the way God is. To be holy He does not conform to a standard. He is that standard." –A.W. Tozer, The Knowledge of the Holy.

Holy God. Everlasting Father. Maker of all the earth. We come to You this Lord's day in praise and adoration and in repentance and petition. Praise, because You are altogether worthy of it. Adoration because You are above all. Repentance, because we are filthy in comparison to Your purity and have offended You with our sins. Petition, because we know You are sovereign over all circumstances and able to affect change.
Lord, I pray to You regarding our government. For President Bush, I pray for wisdom. Yet another disaster this week he has had to face. In the midst of good news about Iraq, the tragedy in Minnesota focused all our attention there and his burden was only increased. Give him wisdom to know how to respond to people's inquiries. A desire to do right as far as You are concerned. And courage to do it no matter what.
I pray for persecuted Christians around the world. We rarely focus on them, yet there numbers are increasing. Comfort them with Your presence. And give them strength to stand through the trials.
Go with us the rest of this day Lord and throughout the day tomorrow. Forgive us of our sins. We love You very much. In Jesus's name I pray these things, Amen.

I do pray for our President and our soldiers, but I have asked to be removed from these threads. I asked for someone to help start a prayer thread for my husband and I got 3 prayers by FReep mail.

I got 3 prayers by FReep mail.I'm so sorry. I have been among those that sometimes add my name to prayers and other times do not. Even though it is very late, please know that I am praying for you and your husband. May God bless you both.

Heavenly Father, I pray for forgiveness, for I have been remiss in not meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters. Let not Krodg and her husband suffer because of my sin, but may the prayers of those three faithful servants not only meet their every need, but cover my lack. May Grace and Mercy and Healing fall mightily upon them, such is Your Love.
May it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray, Amen ...
I’m so sorry Krodg ...

I never thought of you as not caring, I just figured you didn’t see my post. My husband has pancreatic cancer and since his surgery, he has a 25% survival rate. I asked for a prayer thread, but no one would help me.
