UNITED NATIONS, Aug. 7 -- The United Nations has offered to bolster its presence in Baghdad for the first time in more than three years, laying the groundwork for a more ambitious role in mediating the country's sectarian disputes.

The move comes three weeks after President Bush delivered his second personal appeal to Secretary General Ban Ki Moon to help resolve some of Iraq's intractable religious and ethnic conflicts. The top U.N. political adviser, B. Lynn Pascoe, told the Security Council Tuesday that the United Nations would be prepared to increase the size of its mission in Baghdad by nearly 50 percent, raising the ceiling from 65 to as many as 95 international staffers in the coming months.

Unfortunately, if you read Ban’s resume, you would have noticed that he got into politics because of his meeting with John F. Kennedy in the 60s. Ban’s been friendly to the US but so was Kofi Annan, the thief.

Just wait till some of them are taken hostage.
The MSM will be screaming full blast whose fault it is and who's going to have to cough up bail monies.
Besides MSM's information machine will blare how lost this war really is. And Harry, the politician and proclaimer of: "the war is lost" discovers his justification.

I think it is a big deal. It has to mean that things are a lil safer in Baghdad. I think the UN is chicken and they wouldn't come back unless it was safe or they grew a pair. My guess is, it must be safe.

The thing that sucks is that the UN smells money or something and they want to make sure they have their slice of the pie. But the problem is, what did the UN invest in the removal of Hussein? Therefore, the UN’s return should be the same.

Why the UNO now? Because they are just like the American liberals — they never create anything. They only wait around to take over and destroy that which was built by others.

I want to press that we need to keep reminding each other and the world that it is the U.N.O. The ‘O’ stands for organization. It is nothing but an organization. It wants the status of a government. We should neither allow it such status, nor should we speak, write or abbreviate or use accronyms that suggest it has the status of government. It The U.S.A is the United States of America.

It is not the “U.N.” — it is the U.N.O.

Where is Scary Reid's justification now? I promise you that the UN would not be moving back in unless it was safe for them. Also, the UN would not be coming back if Scary Reid had his way.

Under Reid, the US would have pulled out by now. This would have left a power vacuum. You want to see what can happen in a power vacuum? All you have to do is look at what happened in Afghanistan after the Russians pulled out. Tribal leaders rose up against each other. The Mujahadeen split up. Out of the break up the Taliban was created. The Taliban took power and control over the Tribal Leaders and other parts of Afghanistan. And as you know, the Taliban harbored al qeada who attacked us on 911.

Does Scary Reid think something different will happen in Iraq, if we pull out?

I think Scary Reid is a threat to our National Security. I think the UN is too. We should Ban them both.
