DALLAS The way Bobby Williams tells it, his ranch on 100 acres of rural piney hills in East Texas was supposed to be a quiet way to enjoy retirement after a career in the insurance business.
But for years now, he's instead woken up to the roaring engines of all-terrain vehicles, midnight fireworks shows and thousands of drunken revelers who every so often gather across the narrow county road from his property at events like the "Texas Redneck Games" and the "Texas Redneck Muddy Gras."
"We're just a nice calm community and nobody can get any rest, nobody can get any sleep," says Williams, 76. "We've got a problem and I don't know what we're ever going to do to get rid of it. We need something to ban these things."
The latest event ended Sunday with more than 50 arrests and citations, and authorities said Wednesday that they're considering charges against the show's organizer.

It says that a work detail of inmates cleaned up the mess.
I won’t pass judgement on the games, but it seems to me if you are going to have an event you need to clean up after yourself instead of putting it on the county.

4-PERSON TEAM BUTT-CRACK CONTEST- The same rules as butt-crack contest, but men and women will be able to be on the same team. We will allow no more than five teams for this event. Each team will be required to compete with all four members at the same time. Nooooo....Do not want....

We’re infested with them here. Our neighbors are fighting a lawsuit over their oil well (they say it’s noisy), and down the road some of them are complaining about a cattle operation. (complaints about the manure smell)
Those are real sweethearts though compared to the ones whose teenagers bring their gangsta culture with them. Ug.

Funny, I lived a good part of my life in the country and I don’t recall a time when it would have been acceptable to act the way of these “rednecks”. In fact, loud noises and shi—y neighbors are much more suitable for cities.

The games don’t happen every week or even every month. I could see that this guy would have a gripe if they did. But Mr. Pool has rights too. I’d take the time to go away for the weekend. Earplugs are nice too.

From the fox article -
"Modeled after similar games that have been going in Georgia for more than a decade, the four-day "Redneck Games" took place about 70 miles southeast of Dallas and included an estimated 6,000 people, live music and competitions such as an ugly "butt-crack contest" and the "Mattress Chunk."

Another yuppie that moves into a community and wants to rewrite the rules. You don't see a problem with people dumping their trash on the ground and leaving it for others to clean up the mess? If these were illegal aliens dumping their garbage in public, I am certain you would be justifiably outraged and first in line to complain; but when good ol' boys behave like human pigs, you don't have a problem, and anyone who complains is a "yuppie." No wonder the State of Texas is one big garbage dump.
