Haditha- People still don't get it
Darryl Sharratt

Posted on 08/11/2007 11:31:07 PM PDT by darrylsharratt

I may sound like a babbling, elated old man, but I know I can vent with the supporters on FR.

I got a haircut on Friday morning of this week. I was sitting in the chair getting the deed done and the stylist was trying to make the usual small talk. She talked about her family and I talked about mine. I told her I had a son about her age, 22-23. She then asked if he was around here. I said no, that he was in San Diego. She queried, does he work in San Diego. I told her he works with fifty thousand of the finest young men this country has to offer. He's a United States Marine. She said,,OH.

They still don't get it! They may never understand!

I don't want an answer to this post. Just an elated father babbling his thoughts to people who care, who know and who get it!

God Bless Our Haditha Marines

Mr. Sharratt, I’m just going to go ahead and pretend that she just said, “Oh.” because she was fighting the big lump in her throat because of your son, the hero. She was overwhelmed with emotion and gratefulness. She didn’t know what else to say at that point, so she says nothing else.

Later, when she went home, she berated herself profusely, “I should have said ‘please thank your son for me.”

That is my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Oh, and please tell your son “thank you” for me—and my family. :^)

John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Heaven is going to be full of soldiers who endured hardship for His eternal peace.

I 2 sons, both are Marines and have a total of 6 deployments between them to both Iraq and Afganistan.

They both are 10 times the man I was on my best day.

God bless all the Marines; may their tribe increase.

Inquiring minds want to know if your hair looked like this when you walked in the barber shop:
; )

Oh, and BTW...it's a two way street. 50,000 young men work with one of the finest young men this country has to offer.

[God Bless Our Haditha Marines]

And may the Lord Jesus save them from renegade liberal politicians who HATE God and Country and Justice and have no qualms about railroading them into jail for doing their duty, such as the Haditha Eight; a case based on the testimony of Al Qlqueda terrorists who are friends of the democrats.

Darryl, I understand your pride in your son, my son too is a Marine. I understand your frustration with the public at large. At an event this spring my Blue Star Mother wife and I were seated with a couple of limp wrist libs (you make the best of it). Mrs. Limp Wrist asked me, upon learning that my son stands in the breach, "How do you feel about that?" I stated, "I hope he makes neat round dots in terrorist foreheads." Mrs. LW's eyes got big, conversation ceased and it was actually a pleasant event from then on.

Will Powers: If Lieutenant Calley can be pardoned then so should they.

I have come to the conclusion that terrorist sympathizers (All Democrats and the MSM) in our country want to make sure that in the future, people will be able to name more than one face associated with "atrocities" in "Bush's" war. Think about it, the overwhelming majority of Americans, if they are asked to name a Vietnam "atrocity" say Calley. There are no others because in truth, there were few or none others. This kind of deflates the left wing trash's (like dishonorable Murtha)contention that our military turns normal young men into violent murderers. Abu Grab (I know I spelled it wrong) easily rolls off the tongues of the uninformed. The trash want to make sure that Haditha and other manufactured "crimes" just as easily roll off. They know many Americans are incapable of discriminating the crucial differences especially if fed pablum by Keith Obersturmbanfuhrermann, Prissy Matthews and Stephi.

There’s really no similiarity between the cases. A pardon can only come after a conviction and after the appeals process has run its course. We’re not even close to any convictions in the Haditha case.

BTW, the pardon for Calley was issued during Ford’s presidency, not Nixon’s. The process takes a long time. If there are any convictions for Haditha, the next president will be the who could grant a pardon.

It is getting hard to find barber shops nowadays. Hair styling places are taking over. I prefer the old fashioned barber shops.

Thanks for clarifying to issue. I incorrectly thought that there had been multiple convictions in this case. I apologize.

All prosecutions are political and these cases serve the political purpose of appeasing our Iraqi “allies” concerns about supposed mistreatment of Iraqi civilians and combatants.

Bush should order his ministers to dismiss these Haditha cases. That is a political decision. I am hearing that a lot of the evidence is being made up and falsified by the NCIS.

There have been other convictions over supposed atrocities in Iraq. Why not pardon the enlisted involved in Abu Ghraib? After all, if the higher ups knew and were complicit then why should they go scott free while the enlisted get the shaft? End this divisive issue!!-—issue limited pardons to the convicted and lets get on with prosecuting the war instead of our own troops!

LOL

I always go with the

“I know I may not look like much - but I raised a Marine......”

I keep my black beret in a specal place in the closet - next the uniform that, for some odd reason, no longer seems to fit......

Freema-—Nahhhhh. Couldn’t wear my Marines hat-the one that says My Son Is A United States Marine-— When I left it was a #2 buzz along the sides and 1/2 inch on top. For 14 bucks, I want it to last.

I should have bet money that’s what you came out with-

Shoot, boot camp alone was enough to take the curl out of mine- I looked like a broom by the end of boot camp. I would have bet money that’s what you looked like walking in. I figured it would be standing straight up. The only other thing I could imagine after all of this, was it had all fallen out, but then you wouldn’t have needed a cut.
