There's just a quick blurb at the links (as usual, details about upcoming seasons of '24' are sparse to non-existent). Actress Cherry Jones will play President Allison Taylor in the 7th season of '24'.

Nah...they'll probably turn her into a lesbo after the divorce.

This is getting really depressing.

I think she will be fine. However, look for your hero Jack to leave the agency and live as two bugs in the rug with former President Palmer.

I don’t think it’s mentioned which party she’s from but, if I had to guess, she’s going to be a Republican - seeing as the last President was a Democrat in his first term.

I had already decided to discontinue watching 24 next season. This, added to my already present misgivings from the end of season six, only confirm for me that my decision was the correct one for me.

Maybe they’re making a implicit statement that Hillary is a lesbian and therefore we all should pause and consider before putting one in the people’s house in 2008.

the entertainment media has gotten as ridiculous as women’s fashion mags with their over the top PC posturing

why don’t they just get on with it and have Hillary actually play the part?

This new season will focus on a green earth society.

I am under the impression that the 'green' in 24 is strictly about technical aspects of production, and has nothing to do with plot lines.

Here is a website with quotes regarding the season 7 plotline from the show's executive producer: http://www.thetvremote.com/gordon-talks-about-plot-for-seventh-season-of-24/

According to this article originally there was supposed to be a plotline in Africa, with a 'Black Hawk Down' type plot, then a 12 hour jump in the timeline back to DC. FOX put the kibosh on the plotline, for some reason. In Canada there was a rumour that there would be Quebec separatists terrorists. Now season 7 will be DC based 3 years after season 6, with the established presidency of Cherry Jones who has not heard of Jack, no other details seem to be available.

Thanks for the well informed post. Copied NordP because she seems to be a big fan and is worried about the direction of the show.

Thanks. Murdock may be a greenie, but it looks like Jack Bauer won’t.

The show has had many great moments, but it has gotten a little sloppy the past two seasons. You can only take those “the-jig-is-up-then-the-phone-rings” eye-rollers so many times....

Also, the show basically gave up the pretense of “real time” after season two.

I’m sure I’ll watch ‘24’ again this season (I’ve been there since Season One) but I am getting cynical to the point where I figure the last shark-jumping sequence is right around the corner.

She could be the Beast’s cousin, lezzy and all. It is not a coincidence that she is POTUS in the 2008 year. Sutherland is a liberal.

This is nothing more than promoting the Beast.

I don’t care about the eco-friendly production methods. I don’t care about the woman president. If one of both of those things have convinced you not to watch the next season, well, I’m sorry but that’s ridiculous.

An acceptable, valid reason for not watching this season would be because season 6 was so weak (the writers admitted to this). But that’s not stopping me.

At the 24 writers panel at Comic-Con (which I attended) they said that season 7 would open with Jack in front of a Senate subcommittee answering for his so-called “crimes.” That sounds interesting, and probably a good opportunity to make a good political point that I think most in here would agree with. Also, “no more CTU,” and the show taking place in DC instead of LA should make for a very different season than usual.

Will the new female president also have a rapist husband residing with her in the White House?

Maybe they’re making a implicit statement that Hillary is a lesbian and therefore we all should pause and consider before putting one in the people’s house in 2008...not that there is anything wrong with that. :)

[Isn’t Rush a fan of this show?]

Yes he is/was and that probably bothered the producers so they decided to change the format and swing left.
