Success Ain't Easy, Lurkers to the Rescue: Wk 84- Olney,MD 8-11-07: Operation Infinite FReep
FReeper Cindy_True_Supporter | Aug. 15,2007

Posted on 08/15/2007 3:50:36 PM PDT by trooprally

Another successful Olney FReep under their belt. I say "their" because [Mrs] T and I were out of town for the weekend visiting our son's wife and kids in North Carolina. We had nothing to do with this week's successful FReep.

At 10 AM, set up time, there were only 2 FReepers (Cindy_True_Supporter [CTS], and VictoryNY) and one lurker (Lurker M) on the corner. They were the only definites for this morning. Other FReepers and lurkers were "maybes", so no one else was expected. The moonbats regularly have 4 - 6 show up.

So as in the Marine Corps, they adapted to the situation.

There were 3 flags and 5 banners that had to be set up. And they got right to work, not worrying about who was going to show up. They had a mission, TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR OUR TROOPS.

CTS and VictoryNY had only some experience in setting up. Knowing that Lurker Bill and the Trooprallys were going to be out of town, CTS and VictoryNY had been helping to set up for several weeks now. But doing it by themselves was proving to be "interesting".

It wasn't till almost 10:30 when unexpectedly, Lurker Bill and his daughter showed up. Now you have to understand, Lurker Bill got back from his short vacation at 3 AM that morning. They got right to work helping the other three. The remaining banners and flags were swiftly set up.

I need to mention that Lurker Bill's daughter was so tired that several time she briefly laid down on the grass and closed her eyes. But she couldn't stay down for long. For some reason, our corner got extremely more honks and waves than normal. So much so that even VictoryNY, now a die hard Olney FReeper, mentioned to CTS about the rounding show of support. Lurker M was also pleasantly surprised and had a great time. Lurker Bill brought his camera but spent so much time waving back at our supporters, he only took a few pictures.
[Ummmm, maybe [Mrs] T and I should travel to NC more often.] :-))

As 10:30 rolled around, lurkers came out of the shadows to help. Lurker P, who was also at Walter Reed the night before, rolled up on his motorcycle, and then lurker Legionnaries Halsey and Frank came to support their Brothers in Arms.

Bottom line, for most of the hour, we had two FReepers and 6 lurkers, 8 total, against 6 moonbats. Towards the very end, two more moonbats slithered up to protest. I love their passion to their cause. \sarc off

Below are the pics taken by Lurker Bill.

BELOW LEFT: CTS and VictoryNY celebrating their successful set up. Legionnaires Halsey and Frank their to right and Lurker Bill's daughter on the "grass knoll". BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill's daughter on the "high ground" so as to be better seen.

BELOW: Lurker M, VictoryNY and CTS.

BELOW: Token moonbat pic. Is it my imagination or does there seem to be more and more chairs each week.

[Mrs] T and I really appreciate all the FReepers and lurkers and Legionnaires that filled in for us this Saturday and made Olney such a success. Thanks to all.

REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney
NEW TIME - 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

But a lot of verbal engagement in Olney is always welcome.

Great AAR as always! Fantastic job!

Mac and I have been setting up our FReep here in Studio City on Friday night for 2-3 years. We’ve been there for four years but had more company for the first year or two. Until recently, we just had signs and flags, but now we have two banners. We usually only put one up since the wind is a concern. Our banners are on portable garment racks with extra stablitiy provided by pvc pipe and our rally bag. K-Mart: $12.99.

Keep up the great work!

Oh, btw, we (the two of us) take on 20-25 moonbats. But then again, it is quality versus quantity. So don’t worry about the low numbers.

Go FReepers!

Thanks for the encouragement, though several Olney FReepers are probably worth 50 moonbats.

And thank you for standing strong Studio City. You two are the true heroes.

Re Studio City, need to put another plug in for your AARs. HeeHee

Olney FReepers aren't "probably" worth 50 moonbats. They are worth 50 moonbats. Thank you for your kind words, but we are far from heroes. Especially considering the conditions you folks endure in the winter. Re: (tee hee) I hear ya. I figure if someone is reading and see the plug, maybe, just maybe they'll join us.

Freepers reading about Olney have come by. We also get a lot of FReepers from the Walter Reed FReeps. We have a couple of FReepers that like to harass the moonbats with bull horns. And of course iMacMan’s and [Mrs] T’s great camera shots are a plus.

The cold weather builds character just as your two against many moonbats also does.

Time to call it a night. Morning comes early.

Cindy_True_Supporter and VictoryNY did a great job. And Lurker Bill did a good job with the pics.

Any idea when you’ll be able to make Olney again? Not as much walking around as at Walter Reed. :-))

What wonderful people ! You are the kin of people who made this nation great and I thank you for your patriotism .

With this gratitude comes sorrow . Where are all the others in that area who did not show up and stand with you ? No matter their opinions of this war ,there should have been standing room only and traffic tie ups .

Thanks for your kudos.

It is a closely held secret that conservative patriots are not the best of street activists. Actually it is well known. Most work, have loving families and believe that America will just succeed on faith alone.

But you are right, we all wish more people would come out. But we are satisfied with all the honks and waves, and well wishers that stop by to Thank us. Being new to FR, look at some of the old Support the Troops Freeps. Lots of good news are in them.

At Walter Reed the Chief of Neurosurgery stopped one night and told us that we DO make a difference to the wounded in Walter Reed. A Chaplin also stopped by, blessed us, and said the wounded know we are out there, that we are doing good.

One FReeper = 25 moonbats.

One FReeper = 25 moonbats Thanks! Sometimes it is 1 to 25! It may be that way on August 31st. But Mac can hold the line.
