Could martial law ever become a reality in America? Some fear any nuclear, biological or chemical attack on U.S. soil might trigger just that. KSLA News 12 has discovered that the clergy would help the government with potentially their biggest problem: Us.

Al-Qaeda doesn't need to destroy America. We'll do it ourselves. All it needs to do is temporarily disrupt our gasoline supply or damage a few powerplants so we have no air conditioning and our "it's all about me" society will take it from there.

I believe I fixed that to more accurately reflect reality. There are plenty of places in this country with exactly the same combination of entitlement-minded citizens and a corrupt government. It's not universal, but there will certainly be places where things just absolutely fall apart mogadishu style.

People on this thread act as if this is something new, that state governments and the National Guard don't have plans in case a devastating attack takes out the central government.

You're doing it already. I don't think I need to type out a list of the freedoms that you have willingly handed over to the State in the last 20 years now do I?
Maybe you can't see things as clear as I can from an outside perspective, but each time I go back to the USA to visit my family I notice profound changes that no one back home seems to pay attention to. I've often wrote about it both here and on my blog - here is one for you.

Enlisting the clergy to quell unrest? I realize it’s not real but why no cries about the separation of church and state? IMO, they’ll just try to take our property if martial law is ever declared. Watch eminent domain become part of any martial law plan. Seriesly.
The military & law enforcement will do as they are told & if that means kicking in your door & dragging you out of bed at 0300 in the morning & screwing the muzzle of a MP-5 into your ear because you declined to turn in a .38 special revolver in the name of martial law THEY WILL DO IT !

I would say testing the waters . They found out that committing mass murder of religious misfits live on CNN for contempt of cop has the reaction of a federal office building in Oklahoma getting truck bombed.
The federal politicians view the citizens of this nation as peasants . Federal LEO’s are a Praetorian guard for the political class. The politicians know it & so do the federal cops .
